If Padgett decided he needed to preserve Ray and Anas for the 2nd half so be it. Although I’d think that 2 upperclassmen would have the discipline to not pick up if 3rd foul. Regardless of that he should’ve had us milk the clock every possession. And when things got to about 8 points, he should’ve put one of them back in.

Said it in another thread - the lineups in the last 6 minutes were ridiculously bad.

Padgett never stood a chance coaching in this game. I was surprised the game was close for as long as it was. The ridiculous whistles got even more ridiculous late in the first half and continued for the first 10 or so minutes in the second half. It was a ridiculous game.

I’m sure Padgett told VJ and Adel to jack up shots as soon as they touched the ball or that Snider could just go to the basket uncontested every time or don’t worry about rebounding, the kitties will just let you have the ball. Snider’s ineffectiveness and Adel not showing up destroyed any thoughts of executing any offense.

More than likely their first 2 fouls weren't fouls so it's really hard to apply your logic here in regards to having discipline to avoid a 3rd foul. The only way to assure they wouldn't have gotten a 3rd foul was to sit them. I'm not saying I agree with his rotation - I just don't think there was a right move, especially in the shot clock era.

We can't expect Padgett to make shrewd moves, great in-game changes/adjustments.

We can only hope he improves the team's mindset between the ears moving forward from this, but that's no easy task.
