Pitino’s Peers Consider Him To Be Second Best Defensive Coach In College Hoops

Sam Vecenie and the rest of the college basketball crew at CBS Sports have been anonymously polling coaches across the country regarding various different questions.
On Monday CBS shared their findings after asking coaches about the best defensive coach in the game.
It should come as no surprise that Rick Pitino came in at No. 2 on the list, only behind Virginia’s Tony Bennett.

Don't agree with it but it was an anonymous coaches poll. I mean Bennett is a good coach but I would never put him in front of Pitino- especially when it comes to defense. CRP has been doing this for decades. Bennett not so much.

CBS got it pretty close. Rick is, of course, the best defensive coach in the game. He will prove it again this year with his new crop of long and athletic youngsters. They are going to be everybody's full-court nightmare
