Pearl Washington passes away at age 52

Sad news regarding great former Syracuse player, Pearl Washington. He passed away at age 52 of a brain tumor. Pearl was nicknamed after legendary Earl the "Pearl" Monroe. Prayers go out to his family.

Sad news regarding great former Syracuse player, Pearl Washington. He passed away at age 52 of a brain tumor. Pearl was nicknamed after legendary Earl the "Pearl" Monroe. Prayers go out to his family.

Sad news indeed. He was a terrific player and from all accounts, a good person too. May God be with his family for much needed comfort. Rest in peace Dwayne.

Way to young and a big loss for his family, even though he wasn't a Cardinal I remember some great moments in basketball involving him.

This was my Late Wife's (She passed away from Leukemia at 46 years of age) favorite Non U of L player. She loved The Pearl. May God comfort his family. He was far too young.

Sorry to hear about your wife. I lost my 1st wife to melanoma cancer. She was 39. Way too young to lose your wife too. I share your loss.
