can we also acknowledge that the ACC has gotten worse? Or that the non-conference schedule was specifically watered down so that Payne could get some (any) wins?
I not sure how any coach at this level can say they got better as a team after back to back blow outs. KP you just got boat raced by a terrible but well coached team. ND is getting better your team isn’t.

Of all the things he said he wanted to win…games was not one of them.
In my opinion, this game was the final measuring stick for Payne, two teams both at the bottom of the league, not much left to play for but one team seemingly improving and from all appearances, one team that has already peaked and now just trying to finish the season. Effort wasn't a problem with this team most of the season, efficiency was but now it looks even the effort is lacking. Completely unacceptable for a coach.
He definitely coaches like he's not worried about his job security.
Maybe he’s as clueless about his future as he is about coaching!
Yeah and I want to win the lottery. He and I have about the same odds of success..
