Per Twitter:
Mark Blankenbaker:
Malik Cunningham will start for Louisville today vs Western Kentucky. Jawon Pass will not be in uniform as he recovers from a foot injury.

Per the CJ:

Jawon Pass will not play in Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky.

Louisville’s starting quarterback had what was described to the Courier Journal as a “lower body extremity” injury in the Cardinals opener against Notre Dame. Though Pass played last week against Eastern Kentucky, the injury has progressed since that game.

Pass, who has thrown for 330 yards, four touchdowns and one interception this season, is considered day-to-day. Malik Cunningham will be the Cardinals starting quarterback against the Hilltoppers at 4 p.m. EST. Freshman Evan Conley will be Cunningham's backup.

Cunningham has had his own injuries since fall camp.

The redshirt-sophomore injured his knee and missed two weeks of camp but made his first appearance against Eastern Kentucky last Saturday. His first play from scrimmage was a 24-yard pass to Justin Marshall. Cunningham, who entered the game with seven minutes and 40 seconds left, finished with 98 total yards, 74 of which came on the ground, including a 38-yard rushing touchdown.

Known for his ability to make plays with his legs, Cunningham is more of a dual-threat quarterback than Pass. He led the Cardinals with 536 yards on the ground last year, but don’t expect that to change much of Scott Satterfield’s offensive game plan.

His legs should be a factor in the Cardinals read-option game, but they will continue their zone running scheme led by Javian Hawkins and Hassan Hall. Satterfield has made it a point that the Cardinals need to improve their downfield passing, so Cunningham will be asked to stretch the Western Kentucky defense.

Last year he completed 40-of-67 throws for 473 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
