Man, to hear Galloway and Reece Davis talk, you'd think we played in the AAC. The fact is, we tied for the championship in the second toughest division in all of college football with a 7-1 record.

Our 4 non-conference games consist of:
A road game on Thurs. night vs an 8-2 team who already throttled Oklahoma.
A rivalry game vs. an SEC bowl team.
Two patsies, but we at least went on the road to play one.

That's not a schedule worthy of dismissal. Granted, you can use some metrics from somewhere to pick it apart if you really wanted to, but that's clearly not a schedule to be knocked. If we do, in fact, finish 11-1 with the number one offense and a top 5 scoring margin differential in the nation vs. that schedule we have every right to a Top 4 ranking.

The Lamar 'one man show thing' is also just idiotic. We are regularly producing a slew of NFL talent and this year is no exception, but yes we all agree that Lamar is the best of the group. The overall rhetoric is comedy when you look at reality.

I agree but we have to do better at scheduling. Charlotte really? I'll give them Marshall they were suppose to be a contender. Houston is a quality team. However, next years even worse. I hate to say it but we need to dump Murray St and Kent St. Or it will be ground hog day again next year.

It's not tied yet. Clemson has to beat Wake Forrest first. We still have a shot at winning the division.

Man I hope WF offense wakes up and puts it in the end zone. But I have little hope of that occurring.

It's not as if the Cards schedule is somehow the fault of their own.

If you look at Louisville's out of conference schedule you see: Charlotte, Marshall, Houston and Kentucky. Unlike many other power 5 teams we didn't schedule an FCS team and even Charlotte has 4 wins this year.

Marshall, while not good this year was a 10 win team that won a bowl game last year. Houston is 8-2 and was ranked # 6 earlier this season and Kentucky is a 6 win bowl eligible team.

Not much we could do about having UVA, BC and Syracuse on our schedule instead of UNC, Pittsburgh or Va Tech.

Jurich approached Michigan and OSU about a home and home.

Of course they said no. They were to busy with Tulsa, Bowling Green,
Hawaii and UCF o_O

We can't drop or buy out games like Charlotte, Murray, or Kent State. Those are no-return revenue games that put about $3 million in the bank each, not unlike the rinky dinks we play in December in basketball. Revenue from those games are a big chunk of our $100 million athletics budget.

What we shouldn't be doing is going ON THE ROAD to play teams like Marshall, LPT, and IU. Teams of that quality should be no-return games, 2-for-1, or not on the schedule at all. We should only be playing OOC road games against teams that have some chance of enhancing our resume. Otherwise, we get nothing from them...

Our schedule is essentially the same as the other programs were in contention with. Our Top 3 hardest games are:

FSU
@Clemson
@Houston

Our Top 3 easiest games are:
Charlotte
@Marshall
@UVA

The middle six games are a bunch of power 5 teams mostly bowl eligible. Our 12 games likely produce 7 bowl teams. This is on par with OSU, or Michigan and better than Wash, if this is who we will be compared to for the final spot.

The "but their schedule is so weak" comments are fiction.

Just like Donald says "Its all rigged". You can only qualify if you play a tough schedule yet no team will schedule a game with you if A) you may win, B) you may win and C) you may win. Cant take that chance with our tough conference schedule. So realistically, your only chance at a playoff spot is either be in the SEC BIG10, go undefeated, or bring a million eyes to TV sets(which I believe qualifies us this year with Lamar). Its all rigged and the talking heads know it because if you listen to Herbstreit he basically says it on camera.
