From a Nerd friend of mine.

We use YouTube Tv. And love it I have used others too but prefer YouTube TV. With three homes it is a perfect solution. Highly recommended. Works great with new Roku steaming devices. The Roku express is a good value.

Can you get local channels through YouTube TV?

I’ve wondered the same thing, and have heard YouTube is the way to go. I’m ready to leave Directv

looks like YT gives you three accounts to watch at a time hulu only 2.

hulu you can add hbo but not YT.

YT has 15 more channels but don't know what they are but the ones i watch are basically the same.

both have all local channels but if you travel to another city, you only get that city's local channels, not louisville's. but DVR is available anywhere

YT has unlimited DVR storage and unlimited amount of simultaneous recordings, Hulu only has 50 hours of storage and don't know how many at a time.

probably not paying for hbo and need three tv's so looks like has to be youtube even if $5 more. but i can totally see wanting the hulu original programming and if you don't need three tv's probably better for most.

I had sling over the Summer, but went back to Hulu Live when sling didn’t immediately pick up the ACCN. They’ve got it now. Sling does not have local channels, but if you live in an area where you can pick them up with a cheap indoor digital antenna, sling is the cheapest. I live about 75 miles from Louisville and about the same from Indy, so a digital antenna won’t work for me. But if you live near the city limits, digital antenna is the way to go. And Sling Orange plus Blue is the cheapest complete package at $39.98 a month.

I get free HBO because I am an ATT unlimited cellular customer....

I am also a Star Trek geekhead, so I also subscribe to CBS All Access ($6.41 per month) in order to get the new Star Trek Discovery and Star Trek Picard shows, which are only available via the streaming service.

If you like the NFL, try the NFL app. They will carry all of the National games on Thursday's, Sunday nights and Monday nights for free. This was helpful a few weeks ago when there was a Thursday night game only on NFL network. Hulu Live does not have the NFL network channel.

I'm still on the original SlingTV package. I don't get the FOX Sports networks but as PushupMan pointed out it's now easy to add them if you want them. I end up missing some games here and there but the price is right. I've heard Youtube TV is the best but I think it's more expensive.

omg, didn;t realize about the picard shows!!

ps vue has more channel options but goes as hi as $84.99 and if you don't own sony stuff i don't think works on samsung tv's so takes me out of that option. vue won;t switch recordings to on demand versions where you have to watch the commercials like YT but they erase all dvr recordings after 28 days. you can have 10 accoiunts and 5playign i think. but lack of samsung app is a killer

I have sling, which has ACC network, ACC network plus. If you're a NFL fan, it has NFL Network and NFL Red Zone which is excellent.

Love youtubetv and also have Philo ($15). Philo offers the less popular channels the others don’t have like cooking channel,Hallmark, American Hero’s Channel, TvLand, Paramount.

Youtubetv is also in the process of offering PBS and KET.
