Remember when he was considered a candidate for the head coaching job at UofL.
“Rich Rod” was all the rage back in 2007 and IMO he’s still a good coach. He was run out of Morganhole after blowing his National Title shot by losing to sorry ass Dave Wanstedt’s last Pitt team. He then became a round peg in a square hole in the ever-impatient and equally goofy expectations of Michigan Football.
“Michigan Man” Harbaugh anyone? Oh, I forgot, he’s heading to his 4th season of diminishing returns. Rich Rod might just need a break from coaching to freshen up.

Harbaugh and Petrino have actually performed very similarly in their respective coaching stints. Looks like U of L is getting a bargain COMPARED to Michigan.
Rich Rod may try to move into an ast coaching spot in the NFL after a few years away... or something similar in the NCAAs.
His personal life left the door open for a business situation to get thrown in his face....which in turn gave the AD an open door to say CYA.
BUT....gotta point out Rodriguez notice stated he would get his buyout.
