One thing I miss about Pitino..

Maybe Mack does it on social media but one thing I liked that Pitino did during the season was give a progress or player status of each player, both positives and things they needed to improve on.

For instance, I would like to know how Aidan is progressing, especially with the departure of Enoch next season. I know I am enjoying this season game by game but I have to wonder if going against Enoch or Williams in practice is having an impact on his game.

Also just a word about Nickeberry, Slazinski, Withers.

I always appreciated Rick’s acknowledging the other team when the Cards took a loss.

I know the hyperbole was at times strong but hearing his look ahead scouting reports of future opponents was a thing of beauty.

Really. I don’t miss the drama and the hyperbole - at all. WTH you can do your OWN progress report mid season. And CCM does, in fact, give credit to the opposing coach - as does almost every coach I’ve ever heard. Actually, I, as a one time supporter of “dick” Pitino, miss absolutely nothing about him and just simply want to move on from his embarrassing days here.

No one, especially not me is trying to compare the two. Just made an observation that I liked occasional updates on how players were progressing during practices and the season. Especially with guys that aren’t getting any PT.

Mack said that Withers played scout team simulating clemson’s big man. Told the media he “roasted” the defense a few times or something like that. Withers needs to just get in the weight room and bulk up a little (or improve handles). Aidan needs to just get as much scrimmage time as he can and watch a ton of film in order to pick up the speed of the game at this level and learn the game more.

In the spot time I’ve seen Nickleberry play he needs to work on ball handling and playing under control.

Slazinski needs to get stronger.

Cant say as I remember any such midseason reports on guys who weren't playing, or that were playing for that matter. Even if he did you wouldn't be able to believe a word he said..

Don't miss anything about him and so much happier with Mack..

I like what you said here. Few other things I would add. NIckelberry simply plays the same spot as numerous other guys and its a numbers thing---I think he has the skills to play 6-8 minutes at most places, just not right now for us. AI needs to focus on D assignments and not fouling! BTW, loved his form from the line on Sat!

Many things I like about CCM personally, socially and his coaching. I would be lying if I didn’t say I also miss somethings about RP coaching. But the drama I don’t miss. I’m not speaking of the drama that others created to end his career.

I’ll always miss Rick Pitino. Some great teams and fun times to be a fan/student. But those times are over.

No one will ever replicate Rick Pitino. Chris Mack is his own man and I’m gonna just embrace his own personality.
