Says Uk with one less loss would be a lock for a one seed and should be. Now i know their fandom but come on thats some serious butt sniffing.

This LPT team is getting worse. Fortunately, it's masked by the utter ineptness of SEC basketball. Witness Missouri.

Up 1 at half to Mizzou who is like 7-19 or something like that. Nbr 1 seed my arse let alone a 3 . When are people gonna just admit Uk is not this great team this year. All the media keep saying watch out yea right!

A win is a win.

Stay the course. No big, unfix-able problems. A tweak here, a reboot there...

This team gels in March.

How 'bout some numbers for this game...
  • Mizzou shoots 37% from the field, 18% from the 3-pt line, and 61% on free throws. They get outrebounded by the slappies 44-31. IOW, they played like the ish team that they are.
  • LPT committed 17 TOs and had 10 assists.
  • Mizzou RPI #247, ninety spots behind a coachless SEC team--LSU--and dead last in a dumpster fire for a basketball conference.
Stay the course.

What would you suggest just tell mizzou that we don't want to play them anymore?

I would suggest UofK upgrade and join CUSA full time.
I wonder if we missed the deadline to join or if they would still accept us? In all seriousness, as I have started many many times, if it were solely up to me we would have been out of the sec awhile ago. But it is what it is. Just gotta hope that Avery Johnson, Howland, and Pearl get their programs headed in the right direction.

Selection committee said they don't look at teams conference affiliation when selecting seeds thank god

Missouri resides about 100 RPI spots below Canisus, Coastal Carolina, etc. Those are your teams around 140 to put last nights opponent in perspective.

Are you talking to me? I don't think I need our opponents put into perspective. I've seen every game that we have played and am quite capable of seeing how bad mizzou is.

Not so much you, just in general, I would think that game is alarming for the UK fan base.

Quinnipac and Alcorn St. are the teams just above Missouri, so if say any potential NCAA Top 4 seed had a road game vs. those teams and the game was in doubt with 3 minutes to go and we were this close to the Post Season?? I'd say that's a bad sign, but in this case the morning after spin is "good conference road win". I think UKs overall record this year is fool's gold.

I'll take Florida and the points tyvm to start this weekend... and then hope for a rematch in our NCAA tourney bracket.

All true. Hopefully all those coaches can keep 18 year old kids from joining the NBDL too like Calipari has been able to do. o_O

I noticed that you decided not to respond to the truth regarding the Development League and the age requirement being 18. That's OK. Sometimes people don't care for hearing the truth. :p

You have to play conference games. You don't have to play OOC games. Understand the difference?

In a longer time frame, you had a chance to stop playing crap conference teams...change conferences. Your school chose to stay in the basketball equivalent of the MAC or CUSA. Sadly, that window has probably closed for LPT.

Are you still lecturing me about the team that I root for? Do you want to switch teams or is there some other point to all this?

Would you like to place a friendly bet on the Florida game? It will probably be close to a pick em.

You were right and that's the only thing I could have added. Next time I will give you the praise that you are seeking.

Actually, I think I did respond and asked if you could think of any kids that went straight from high school to the DL. I couldn't think of any.

Our conference is getting four teams in the tournament, without looking it up I don't think either of those conferences are getting four teams in.

We are consistently the worse power conference, but like I said before, it wasn't my choice to stay and if it were we would have switched.

Why do you keep lecturing me like I have any control over the situation? We are in the sec it's done. You need to let go and research some new material because I agree with you on this particular subject.

Wasn't looking for praise. I was only looking for aknowledgement since you were adement about the NBDL belonging to the NBA and the NBA not allowing 18 year old employees.

Now to answer your question. No I can't recall A-N-Y top talent going straight to the NBDL instead of making a mockery of the NCAA student-athlete ideology for 2 semesters. I really wonder why that is?

It doesn't really make a great deal of sense. Why would any kid who doesn't give two flips about college GO to college for 1 or 2 semesters when they could have went to the NBDL to earn a paycheck without worrying about college classrooms, taking tests, dealing with rules and regulations, etc, etc, until their 19th birthday?

I'm leading you to THE ONLY VIABLE answer. College pays better. We all just keep ignoring the pink elephant in the room, but it's there. All you have to do is connect the dots.
