Ok. I hate to be that person but...

Our bigs are putrid..long season ahead. Pitino must've been high off heroin for bringing these joker's in!!!
I am that guy with you because standing 6-10
Mangok
Spalding
Johnson

are as soft as cotton. I love Padget, but if you take lions and train them with a sheep, you will have sheep. Conversely, you take a sheep and train them with a lion, you have a pack of lions. Our bigs love the damn 1 foot finger roll and I will never understand it.

DUNK THE DAMN BALL YOU ARE SIX F-ING TEN

that 1 foot lay up finger roll has 2016-17 NIT written all over it.

I would start Matz......... at least he will try to dunk the ball. He passes the ball great as well.

someone on here is friends with Pitino, please ask him if it is in his plans to have 6-10 bigs doing finger rolls 1 foot from the goal? that is garbage. pure garbage.

Totally agree....I think the big guys are just decent. They make some good moves but can't finish. I'm done hoping Anas and Matz are gonna be any good. They haven't improved at all. Just go with old man Mango, JJ, Ray and be done with it. But man they got to learn how to finish.

I would give Matz a chance and would start him. he is the only one with heart. great passer and he dunks the ball. that 1 foot finger roll will have us in the NIT

Like I said in another thread,Anas is not a 5.It's why he has not gained the weight CP asked him to gain.He won't make it as a 5 anywhere, but his coach needs him to play it here.Enough on him.Johnson took a step forward rebounding last night. These guys just need to clog up the middle, block some shots, rebound and take what's left over offensively.

Fortunately, college is not a big man's game.Hasn't been for a while. We've got some outstanding wings and guards. We'll get it done.Try not to get too disappointed with expectations and get behind the collective group.

Beasley, spot on. Our post play is our downfall. I say go small, start, and PLAY V.J. King major minutes. By season's end it will pay off, live with his youth, mistakes and the growing pains.

Obviously some folks have never watched a team develop over the course of the season. Our bigs will be fine, and likely very good.

That's usually true however Mango is in his 13th year and still doing same stuff, and Anas/Matz are still projects. I do think there is potential for JJ and Ray but they need to man up and start finishing down low.

How much longer do we have to wait? They've been here going on three years, five if you include Mango smh.

These boys are never going to be good. Pitino needs to quit recruiting these terrible foreign projects hoping he will strike gold like he did with gurgi. It's plenty of kids that can step in and play from day one that he needs to be landing.

Our 5-Star recruit Malik Williams has to be licking his chops. If he is 1/3 as good as advertised he plays 28-30 minutes a game next year and these current bigs fight for the scraps that are left. Again, this season we need to cut our losses and go small. Start V.J. King, live with his youth. It would also help with recruiting that for once we allow a freshman to start.

Vj King better start along with Q,Mitchell,Adel and Spalding. It's time to just get those terrible 7 footers out the door.

I hate basketball season. So much overreaction (both ways) to every. single. game.

It was an exhibition.

This observation comes from a sample of three entire season's. It's frustrating watching all the other elite programs reel in top guys while for the third straight year we are going to be stuck with projects that couldn't average 10 and 5 on a division II team.

We could do much better.

Just curious? Why do you say Spaulding? He did very little from what I saw. At least JJ had double digit rebounds.
Spalding showed he was worlds better than any of the other bigs last year as a freshman in real big time games against teams like unc and Duke. I put more stock in those games than Bellarmine.

So your reasoning for starting King is based on what he did in high school? Glad you're not the coach..

Put in a forward that can hit the one footer. The other team would have to guard him unlike our seven footers.

Well I didn't see the exhibitions but Anas DID step up in some games last year like against Duke. However counting on him to have big games every game seems like it isn't going to happen. But for better or for worse these are the players we have for this season so I'm still going to support them and I think they'll come through for the team- just not as often as we hope they could.

If I had this group I would run a small lineup of 4 guards/small forwards and rotate 1 big for fouls with only one purpose, rebound.

I hate getting on our players, but there is no reason to be soft, that takes no skill, just effort.

Based on the fact vj King is better than those 7 footers
I will have to admit that playing two small forwards and two guards would have probably worked against a team like Bellarmine simply because all their players can shoot from the outside and they can create the inside outside mismatch. Our bigs although taller and longer reach were not quick enough to stay with them. Couple that with getting our bigs out of position takes away any rebounding advantage we might have had. But it's Bellarmine with no player taller than 6-8. Most teams are not going to be play like that.

And yes what I saw from King is he's silky smooth and will be a big contributor on this team.
