Did ccs recruit any guys at all for the offensive line? I mean i just about turned the game off on multiple occasions.because we were just getting owned

The short answer to your question is "No." That's what leaves you with three freshmen and a JC starting.

There are 3 OL who signed scholarship LOI under CCS still on the roster. None start. 85% of our offensive woes can be contributed to our line play which was caused by CCS's horrible OL development.

And Strong at U of L never had to compete consistently against the defenses we're playing now...

When do we quit giving this hc a pass and stop blaming Strong?

Considering we are seeing some of the same issues we saw under Strong, it would be fair to start there and follow the recruiting trail.

This staff has not been around long enough to recruit offensive linemen to UofL. Offensive linemen take a while to reach a point where they make a meaningful contribution.

Unless you had the breadth of knowledge over a period of time, it would almost be impossible to be to access and recruit o'linemen to transition attrition.

Strong and staff were defensive coaches first and the roster demonstrates that.

Strong recruited Burns and McNeal on the O-line. Lacy. Its safe to say we probably get Christian too. His brother came to play for Strong. I think Strong whiffed on the O-line in his earlier classes but once we joined the ACC we seemed to be in on a higher level recruit.

I believe Strong actually recruited 3 or 4 more than that, but they either quit the team or transferred elsewhere.

Yes Strong recruited others that are no longer on the team. Im just speaking on the Strong recruits that are still on the team especially the kids in the class he was recruiting when he left. RS-FR McNeal & RS-FR Burns offer lists were as good as any O-linemen we've probably ever signed.

Zipp nailed it the defenses are much better in the ACC. Last years line struggled as well and that was a experienced group. It is going to take time to get the depth they need on the line to be consistently good. I have no doubt they will get there but it is going to take some time.

Klusman was rated #34
Fraser #60
Lacy #86
Kelby Johnson #18
Burns #109
McNeil #130
Epps #105
Hughley was a walkon who was given a scholarship

Guys that left were Nacho #27
Herron #111
An Voots #114
Manley #1129

Seems like there are quite a few OL on the roster and not just FR. Apparently they are worse than what we are playing...

Right now we have two (2) OL commits. A 2 star and a 3.

We have 3 Fr WR's on the 2 deep, and more playing, and a Fr starting at QB. But we have 4 WR commits and 2 QBs.

If we're gonna "get there" we better get on some OL's and less WR's.
