Sorry to interrupt all these UK related posts, but 3/31 is the date from 1986 when UofL beat Duke to win their second national championship. It also marks the time when UofL beat Duke in 2013 to advance to the Final Four, aka, the Kevin Ware game.

Fond memories. One story about Pervis that I have never forgot. Jock Sutherland ask his mom if there was anything Pervis did better than play basketball, and his Mom said playing the trombone. Jock Sutherland responded 'He must be one hell of a trombone player!'

Funny and true!

A lot of people didn't know that Pervis Ellison didn't start playing basketball until his junior year in high school. The only reason he started playing was because he was in the band and budget cuts did away with the band so he started playing basketball, lucky for us.

Never Nervous the Man,but Billy T took it on his shoulders late in that season to resurrect his legacy at UofL and lead that team.
The blessing in disguise was that Milt broke his foot the year before and was granted a medical redshirt. When he went down it was all gloom and doom for the season. Little did we know he would help bring home our 2nd championship trophy!

The Ice Man rarely failed us. I'm happy Milt is back in the fold of all things UofL.
