While I think Brohm ultimately comes to Louisville, I’ve been told today that it’s closer to 50/50 at this point that he would leave Purdue. Specifically I was told that they are very happy with what Purdue has offered and all the turmoil and uncertainty Louisville has been through gives pause.

Someone else posted that “a deal in principle is done”. I don’t believe that at all. He is the #1 candidate for sure though.

Take it fwiw.

I don't believe anything is set in stone because I don't think Brohm is the type of guy to just go behind Purdue's back and agree to a contract at this point. I do think his people and ULs people have been in contact and that's all but been confirmed but I agree with the above poster and that only he knows what he's going to do and he isn't going to allow anything to leak out before the end of the year.

Having said all of that....I'll be genuinely shocked if anyone other than Brohm is coaching here next year.

Its a done deal...

What turmoil?

Brohm is going to be under pressure to deny interest in the Louisville job. I don’t think Brohm is the type of guy to say unequivocally he will coach at Purdue next year when he intends to take another job. His problem is that if he doesn’t make such a statement everyone will believe he’s going to leave. That hurts Purdue as it finishes its season.
So if Brohm makes an unequivocal statement this week I’ll believe him. If not I think he’s coming here.

It’s now or never. He could very well tank and never be coveted again.

I don’t pretend to be an insider or know what Jeff Brohm will do but I do know this, he has no “people” unless you’re talking about his parents. Brohm negotiates his own deals and has no agent or “people”.

A call was arranged with Brohm for the next day with the help of DHR International, the search firm Purdue used in the process, and Brohm’s agent and close friend, Shawn Freibert.

Exactly. What does our past bball situation have to do with football? Not only that, no way in hell Brohm said any of that. Fake rumor

The upheaval at UofL has certainly been more than just the b-ball program. Jim Ramsey, ULAA mismanagement, Jurich, Board removed, Board appointed, Postel, papa John, etc, etc

Why would Brohm care about James Ramsey, and Papa John? Im sure as an alum and a lover of UofL he’s glad they’re both gone. He’s probably happy that Jurich is gone too. Regardless, the turmoil with the list you mentioned is in the past. Again, i can guarantee you Jeff cares zero about any of that.

Yes those things happened in the past but we are still dealing with them in the present and will be in the future. Anyways just relaying what was said by someone in their family. No one knows for sure except for Jeff and his wife.

Petrino definitely had a bad year... But, this is the first really bad year he's had at UL. Until 2018, he never had a losing year, with the worst years being 8/5 and a bowl game. This was over nine seasons at UL. Most years his teams did better than that with his best year being 12/1. I'm not so sure firing a successful coach with his win/loss record for one bad year is the smartest and fairest thing to do. Maybe there's more to come that will justify his firing, but, IMHO, having his first losing year wouldn't seem to be enough to get him canned.

Nobody gives a damn what you think.

Which is probably why you unsuccessfully predicted we didnt have the funds to pull off Bobby’s buyout.
You don't have premium access, and we had been discussing that very subject. More precisely, I said U of L doesn't/didn't have the CASH. But they have some limited financial assets (investments) that can and will be converted to cash since no outside money is coming in.

Bottom line is Tyra is emptying every last piggy bank he can. The hole he's dug in a short time will be $50 million by this summer. It's a dumpster fire...

Thank you for letting me know, and I'd like to compliment you for the quick survey results. Determining in a few minutes that not one person in the entire world cares about something is quite an accomplishment! Is that your profession?

Brohm knows what he can expect if he is offered/chooses the UL job. While I do think he is the number one target for UL, there are other programs that may be interesting to him. He will be on the short list for many ADs. Many things will shake out the next few weeks but what if a storied program offers? USC for example. Ohio State may be open. Auburn is a real possible opening. You guys know more about his history of and affection for UL but, other great jobs will be out there.

If Brohm had to choose between OSU. USC. Auburn and UofL. He'd choose UofL.
