His stat line won't beat you down over the head but he played a solid defensive game yesterday. He played smart. He moved his feet better than at any time I've seen him move this year. As a matter of fact, I'm going to say the whole team looked better defensively than they've looked all year long against a quality opponent.

Could it have been as simple as nixing the switching zone defense and playing a more traditional man to man and zone defense? Is this Pitino's tweak?

Onuaku is a solid player and will be for the years to come.CP did do just what you said. With the youth this team has, probably better to keep it simple defensively, stay home to keep guys from getting lost.

I might add that our centers most glaring problem to date looks to be a lack of confidence, fueled on by their own inabilities to shine offensively and their teammates confidence in them.

Yesterday was a big shot in the arm to help alleviate that(Mango's shot).Time will tell, but our centers seem to be connected in some strange way that just one shot might help them all.

Onuaku is a solid player and will be a very good center for us in the coming years. He will gain more experience and skill and he definitely has been more active lately.
