The fighting Satterfields lost to TCU to finish the season 5-7. Tough year for our former head coach. He did beat Miami of Ohio this year to claim the victory bell in that big rivalry game.

I’m still very surprised at his lack of success after ASU, for whatever reasons.

With his record there I felt he was a solid coach and was very excited when we got him.

I may be wrong 😑 but I can’t recall if anybody who was on our “wish list” that time has done anything special?

Offensively I think he is too married to the zone read. Without top notch running quarterback and super fast and nimble running backs, defenses have started to adjust. But in case anyone doesn’t think Jeff is the guy we needed look what happened to Purdue yesterday.

Here is a sampling of some of their well-followed fan Twitter accounts:

“Cincinnati football is dead. Scott Satterfield is on the hot seat. Back-to-back losing seasons, his teams have no life and the fan base hated the hire from day one. I hope I’m wrong, but this is Tommy Tuberville 2.0. Something has to change. Thankfully it’s basketball season.”

“Resources aren’t infinite.
I’d rather use the millions it would take to end the Scott Satterfield nightmare prematurely and devote them to the continued scaling of #TheMovement.
Make Cunningham sit in his shit and sell this for two more seasons.”

“I will say this…Satterfield is a great hire for a school that’s trying to return to their basketball roots.”
