Is it possible the Cards could get left out of the Playoffs and the Orange Bowl even if we win out? Playoff teams, Alabama is in. What if Ohio State beats Michigan and Penn State wins out. Then the winner of the Penn State-Wisconsin championship game is likely in. They probably will not put in Ohio State and leave out the Big Ten Champ. So that would be two Big Ten teams.
Then suppose Clemson loses the ACC championship to whoever then the Tigers are out with two losses. The fourth Playoff spot is not guaranteed to Louisville and could still get filled by the PAC12 or Big12 champ, Washington, Oklahoma or West Virginia depending on what direction the committee decides to go in. Then the Orange Bowl would get the ACC champ who would be whoever beats Clemson. If the Orange Bowl gets to decide, they could also take Clemson over the Cards. Then Louisville is looking at a lesser bowl like the Russell Athletic. This sounds far fetched, but it is still a nightmare that hasn't been talked about.
