Just heard that Jeffersonville righty Chandler Dale will join fellow teammate and All-State candidate Drew Ellis as a member of next years class. I was very outspoken about the type of person J-Rog was a couple years ago when he committed. Chandler is another one that will represent UofL in a very positive light.

Great kid with a TON of upside in terms of talent. Tall lanky hurler that doesn't rattle easily. He isn't quite as honed as Rogers was coming outta high school but he will prove to be very valuable in time. Whether its in a starting role or out of the pen, he could also play outfield if needed. But believe me when I say, this is the type of kid you wish your daughter would date. He will be a great addition to this program for more than just baseball.

Didn't one of the Southern Indiana teams make the little league world series a few years ago? Aren't some of those kids coming out of high school soon?

Drew Ellis and Candler Dale were the 2 pitching horses of that team and now will both be Cards. Drew doesn't pitch much anymore but I heard Coach Mac wanted him to this season if possible. I know he threw a couple games. Chandler was the work horse on the mound this season and threw a perfect game a couple weeks ago. Drew is an All State SS but I think he will move to one of the corners at UofL.

Chandler is a late commit because he didn't really blossom until the end of last season. He was hidden behind Trent Astle who is the freshman that just pitched Xavier to a Big East title last weekend which won them a spot in the Nashville Regional.

Thanks Had1. I thought it was about time they would be coming out of high school. Wasn't sure if any of them had kept with it and were D1 level players these days. I remember the Cox kid from Valley that won the LLWS went on to have a good career at Arkansas. Figured at least one or two would turn out to be good players.

Alvey went to Butler, but I he didn't graduate from there. He also went to Doss, I think? I wish him well.
