New Coaching Staff

Really?

Huh 🤔

I never made the connection 🧑‍🦯 🤷‍♂️

Gee thanks Mr Obvious! You’re a lifesaver! 🙏💪

Read that this morning. Hopefully it’s more than just “talking about” joint the program. He must not love his path with Scheyer.
There are many more former dookies in Coach K’s coaching bush with way more experience than Nolan. But who knows in 10-12 years from now.

Nolan will be the new Associate Head Coach at UofL.
Not sure how much ”Cards broke the bank to get Nolan“ is, but a awesome hire and hopefully worth the money!
I also didn’t realize that he was born in Louisville, and that his dad is buried in Cave Hill!
The same resting place as the greatest boxer of All-Time!

This is a good fit. He is a great recruiter. He is going to be immediately accepted by fanbase. There will be a level of trust with Smith.

Your insite to Nolan is like alot of our fanbase they don't know. This is the very point about Rick's tenure here. Alot of the former players are rooted in this very city . And were shut out by him we lost out on some serious talent because of this . However this is one of the main reasons it was important to have the opportunity to hire KP . Their was not one coach other than him with the ability to galvanize this fanbase and all era's of former players not one! You heard Josh speak of this very thing after trying to find something negative. He realized he was just wasting time it was right in his face,

Agree, to expand on the trust part of this. I believe there's an overall "family" goal, if it's like that at the top (KP and NS) then this can spread to players. They are constructing a family, who wants in? And I believe this is how they are going to try to build their culture, rosters and ultimately the program moving forward.

There are so many little things fan pick up on and complain about, or maybe just don't like, etc. Ex, sometimes we watch our teams play and we wonder if the guys even like each other. Maybe they do, but sometimes it's not all that easy to be sure. That body language of players since you know who left just hasn't been the same. Yeah this is a minor thing. Or is it? Last year, our captain got suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Not to pick on him, but the culture needs a rebuild.

The only former Card I ever heard CRP mention was Pervis and it was not positive. IIRC it was about low attendance at an autograph session or something similar. Face it, Pitino was the show, not the players. His nor especially anyone else's.

Did you not see the “awesome hire“? Sounds to me like you just jumped to the conclusion that I didn’t support the hire, and you were waiting for someone to disagree with it in order to prove a point! I’m just stating that I wasn’t aware that he was born here, and that his dad was buried here as well! Since Derek was born in GA I thought that he may be buried in his home town!

Smith is a home run hire on many levels. Recruiting is going to get better. The other coaches will be interesting.

Milt will be interesting if it happens. I think he is somewhat of a mystery. I don’t think people will universally love his hire. It is a gamble. He obviously developed Dejuan and was part of DJ’s. Is he a player development guy?

It does bring 3 guys that get Louisville basketball.

Not any where near the point i was stating . You stated you didnt know a very minor detail about him being from here. As pointing out alot of fans didn't know alot about his history here. Smith lived in this city and people didnt even know that.
