New Coach Thread

Agreed Jimbo11, it was a great win, a great effort and excellent game preparation. Do yourself a favor and ignore him like I did.

We just annihilated the #10 team in the country and you are INCAPABLE of giving Coach Satterfield any credit whatsoever.
That’s why you are seen by many of us as being completely unobjective so we give you no credibility. None whatsoever.
A true fan would celebrate this historical performance and great win.
1. I’m a UofL fan (was at the game) and am very happy that the team won today, has turned things around and, is playing well.

2. Objectively, there is credit to go all around - including to Satterfield and the coaching staff for the improved play - just as - also objectively - there is blame to go around when the play was as poor as it has been previously.

3. I find it funny that you feel the need to tell me what you think about me. I don’t think about you at all.

Great win for the Cards and Coach Satt. Barring the Cards losing out, I think Scotty got himself another year.

It would be great if more people went to the games.
Well they should have good reason now to attend. If they don’t it’s on them

Since BC they have been playing with a nasty edge on defense. It has been fun to watch. I have been super critical on Brown. The last 3 games are exactly what I thought his defenses would be like. They have made 3 pretty good QB’s very uncomfortable tie that with the secondary being in the right spots you get turnovers.

I admit I was ready to escort Satterfield out of town myself after the BC loss (and he deserved it) Hats off to the team and coaches for not laying down and continuing to fight to get better.

I still don't understand why we start so slow every year, hopefully whatever it is Satterfield has a handle on it now.

I think barring a total collapse the rest of the season and a skull dragging by UsucK Satterfield will be back next year and probably deservedly so.

I was in total agreement with your comments after the BC loss and am also in agreement as we speak. CSS has turned this football team around seemingly without any personnel losses. That's what good coaches do. Our schedule does, indeed, get tougher from here on out, but I think we just may be up to the task. Just a question for the group: how many of you think there might be other schools seeing what CSS is accomplishing here and "might" be interested in pursuing him? I had a discussion last evening with a couple of guys that think he just might be a candidate elsewhere.

GO CARDS!!!

I don’t believe any P5 schools have interest in Satt. Everyone knows he has been on the precipice of getting fired.

Well will see how he finishes, but if I’m Heird I would be finding additional funds for Satt for next year, because if this progress continues there will be interest.

So wait, we don’t have the money to fire Satterfield (or pay another / better coach) but, we have the money to give him a raise? 🤔

That’s been the feeling ever since he expressed interest in the USCjr job.

Bye Felicia.

The "rumor" that WE don't have any money is just that, a rumor. UofL athletics may not have a ton of money but we ain't broke. Actually, no where near broke.

GO CARDS!!!

I cannot explain everything that has occurred during the Satterfield era, and frankly I doubt anyone other than those closest to the program could have a clue.

Like so many others, after the loss at BC, I questioned whether this staff had truly reached the point of no return. Yet, the response tells me a lot more about both Satterfield and the players. These next few weeks will have an huge impact on the future of this program.

If we are borrowing money to meet operating expenses, isn’t that pretty much the definition of being broke?

No. In many cases, businesses borrow to meet daily expenses and those are businesses that are in a good place financially. Just a normal method of running a business. Perhaps there are accountants or business owners on the board that can confirm my comments.

I would think if a business was in a good place financially, profits would be used for that purpose. This isn’t about a temporary cash flow situation, but an ongoing shortfall. However, before I start sounding like the Artist, I’ll just say I’m glad things are looking up and replacing Scott Satterfield may not be necessary.

Sometimes if a company is in a good place it may be a tax advantage to "short term borrow" money to meet daily expenses.
