Congrats NCAA. You got what you wanted with uconn in the final four again.
Next time just save money and put them in storrs regional.

Better yet, just put them in the final four.

Last year the Cards didn’t have to travel further than 200 miles in their Final Four run. Cards were either going to be 1 or 2 seed with UConn in Albany Region after losing to ND for second time. Unfortunately UConn decides to find their 3 point range today and Louisville had half a dozen shots rim out in first 5 minutes. I blame NCAA for a lot but I cannot blame them for today’s result.

My issue is why was UCONN playing the early game as the #2 seed versus the customary #1 seed getting the earlier game and rest.

I asked Walz if the NCAA will put a 2-seed in their own backyard, why not let 1-seeds host like they do first- and second-round games. If just selling tix is the objective, that would work as well and be fair to the 1-seeds.

Walz said that he doesn't have a big problem with how things turned out this year in Albany. His remark was that the players want to play in front of big crowds, hostile or not. Considering the hard-nosed way he coaches, I can understand that. It's more an issue to him of fan interest and relevance.

The guy's a winner and knows what matters...
