Ncaa supports agents and name and likeness profit for players . This just gives the green light for the blue bloods to get even richer . U of L doesn't stand a chance getting really good players now . Teams like UK in addition backed by Nike will run rampant in Lexngton allowing kids to peddle their goods

IMOP how can they even punish programs at present for cheating they are now giving a blessing for it. If they pass which is 95 percent it will . They need to just drop every enforcement case against all schools and start with a clean slate.

The Louisville Cardinals are the biggest show in a sports hungry city that doesn’t have a pro sports team. Our guys are the biggest stars in the city. Tradition doesn’t matter, we are the team in the city of Louisville.

Here’s the issue about it “ruining” college sports. The millions the NCAA gets from TV deals, the big tv contracts and bowl money that the ACC gives out, and all the ticket and ad revenue with donations that UofL gets directly is the issue.

The players are the ones bringing in those millions of dollars and get nothing. If it was about being an amateur, then they would charge nothing or like $5 for tickets and Chris Mack and Satterfield would be making the same a department chair. Or all that money is spent on academic improvements.

If it wasn’t about money, all the coaches and TV networks would do it for free or much cheaper.

I'm sick of hearing these players don't receive anything . I beg too differ i've been around many of athletes family and friends kids U of L and ,Uk and other schools players . The vehicles , clothes , jewerly, luggage (high end) gucci ,louis vuittion real stuff they be having . Yes some do get these from legit sources family and friends girl friends but most do not have it that way. Look around these campuses and just watch what these players acquire.

My personal take on it is the schools /ncaa should put a certain but equal and higher amount of money to every athletes account at the end of their seasons for the revenue earning sports. And just a smaller portion to the non revenue earning athletes .

So Lamar Jackson got an equal return for all he did for UofL? Or did he owe us his performance for his tuition and the offer we gave him?

Did he get equal value for the revenue of those 2 college game day’s he brought to Cardinal Stadium? Did he get equal value for the ABC ratings for those Clemson games or the FSU game in 2016?

But yeah, all of those fancy cars and bags are plenty. Bobby Petrino got $14 million to leave from a contract. Lamar got 3 free years of tuition.

Most of us work for a corporation and the do all the work and the execs get millions and do nothing and i don't think the company is going to pay the line workers millions ! When your in high school you play to get a scholly from your dream school or any school. I just know i wished my kid had been good enough to get a athletic scholly.Would have saved me thousands of dollars.

You can also forget about getting a championship why the hell would a kid care to really play for one when all they have to do is play enough to get drafted and know their going to get paid in the end regardless of results.

I think there’s a difference between being a manager of a corporates branded retail store and one of 13 players that are the reason all of the fans care and the TV networks care enough to spend all that advertising money.

Walmart is a large corporation sure, but if a manager isn’t doing their job, there’s 1,000 other guys who can walk in and do it. They’re selling a product that people want anyway, they aren’t the product. Fans turn on the TV to watch a good basketball game. They aren’t turning on the Bellarmine game.

If Lamar Jackson got hurt in 2016, there isn’t a person on this earth that could replace him. Lamar being there and then the year he’s gone? 2-10 and fans going to the exits.

Money means everything in today’s college game. Tom realized it and look where we are now, ACC and all around best athletic program East of the Mississippi.

It’s just a greedy “get off my lawn attitude to say that “them darn kids are ungrateful, bringing in millions in revenue and wanting to get paid. Back in my day we walked both ways uphill to school and didn’t get paid! We got drafted to war!”
