On any team with 90+ guys there is always going to be some degree of infighting. How bad it gets really depends on the senior leadership.

In this day and age, I agree, stuff would be out there making the rounds on social media. I think it's an easy rumor to start with Lamar being a celebrity and the close wins and bad losses.
