OKay, the Auburn game was a learning experience with a lot of positives and upsides. Now we must focus on Houston and their scrambling Q-back Greg Ward! Houston must NOT be overlooked we are at home and we just don't lose at PJCS!! Houston is coming off a home game with an FCS team (Tex-Tech) and they provided Houston with experience and a learning experience as well. Greg Ward scrambles a lot and makes plays on the fly and directed by Coach Tom Hermon who is a very good Head Coach (UH), and one the CARDS considered in its search (HC) before CBP's arrival to Louisville.

Bobby relishes games like this and will have his team prepared. Ordinarily Houston would be a :TRAP" game but after the Auburn loss the CARDS are looking for a first WIN and CBP will have this team focused. Bobby will be able to focus more directly with the team now not having to prepare with four QB's now down to one. Lamar Jackson a Q-Back who gives escapebility with his legs and passing with his arm. Lamar has that commandership psyche and leadership that great q-backs need! We have very a talented and youthful WR's. In Auburn game as LJ took command the run-game picked up with Brandon Radcliff and Jeremy Smith! Peete is a stud, as is Samuels. I would love to have Emonee Spence back and J. Quick.

This game is very winnable...but no gimme! We must focus and keep from our mistakes, TO's, Int., and errors by our O-line! Our Defense must attack, contain and be focused and tuned into the game! We fans need to be at the game and ready for a fight and have fun supporting our team. Here's wishing our injured to a very speedy recovery....CARDSTUD and Go Cards!!

Houston doesn't have a bad football team. The Cougars are going to be fired up, and ready to play. The Cardinals better be ready to match the emotion or they're going to get smacked in the mouth early and often.

The Cards have the talent to win but it won't be easy. They'll have to bring it to win it. If they're full of themselves or overlooking the Cougars with Clemson on deck then the Cardinals are going to be 0-2 after Saturday.

I here and agree with you Cue Card!

Good write up though I'm not sure who coach Harmon is. Also for those of you who haven't seen Ward play, here's last year's highlight video. He's gained 20 lbs and the offensive scheme is different now though.

Greg Ward is 7-2 as a starter. Career 68% passer with 14 TDs and 7 INTs. Scored 10 career rushing TDs with an average of 5 yards per carry.

He's small, but very quick.

Louisville is a 13 point favorite for a reason, but I would take the over in this game. The O/U is 54 which implies a 34-21 type game. Ward has never put up less than 24 as a starter, and Houston averages 33 when he starts.

I believe Louisville will run the ball and try to shorten the game. We have a great group of running backs and our line started run blocking well in the 2nd half of the Auburn game.

That is exactly how I would attack Houston. Keep Ward off the field and play ball/clock control. Run - run - run - and then run some more. Jackson runs as well as any of the RB's, and as you stated, the O-line was figuring it out against Auburn in the second half. RUN!!!! Of course all that goes out the window if the Cards come out flat and gives up 2 or 3 quick scores. The Cards must avoid the letdown. The fans in PJCS are going to be important IMO. Got to get LOUD!!!

They have to pick it up. Edge rushers have to contain and not let Ward get outside. I thought the D-Line played better when Fields and Dawson-Bent was on the field together.
Grantham has to rotate players in to keep them fresh. Especially in the secondary

The Cards better not take this game lightly. I live in the Houston area and I can tell you Coach Herman has brought a new attitude to the program. And they have a lot of good athletes. And we have some issues of our own. I think this will be a struggle.

100% spot on. This is a huge game for Houston and they feel very confident they can come in to PJCS and leave with a win. The Cardinals MUST match that early emotion or they're going to fall behind and have to play catch up football again. Houston has talent. The good news is so does UofL. We've got to show up though. Any type of Auburn hangover and we're toast.

Cue Card, you and others have hit the nail on the head. I am happy that Houston has upgraded their p-la, talent, and image in the fball world!

I highly doubt that we see any hangover from Auburn.

Our linebackers need to wake up and express themselves. Containing edges and stopping the spread option and dinks and dunks.

Beasley, I think that Cue Card is spot on with you! Greg Ward will show the Cards a little more speed and passing from Greg Ward than we did with Auburn! Certainly Auburn and Atlanta was a much better venue and team than Houston or Tx Tech but this game is either a make or break game and to be taken very seriously!
