It was a few years ago that I was surfing through the sports channels and I came across an interview on the SEC network. It was Mike Slive talking about how the SEC had been under performing in basketball for the last few years ( I believe they only put 3 teams in the tourney) and how that was about to change. We are going to hold all of our schools responsible to improving basketball in the coming years. We cant just be Kentucky and 13 also rans so we will improve and improve fast. He said it so matter of factly that I wondered if he was going to get coach Cal to cut them all in on the pay for players scheme so the conference could reap the financial benefits. The way he put it just sounded so unprofessional. I remember thinking good luck with that. You will never catch the Big East and Acc yet here we are with major improvements from Tenn, Lsu, Auburn, both Miss'. Now it's all coming together with Will Wade, who apparently has a big reputation for being on the shady side of recruiting. Auburn being involved in scandal with lyin Bruce. Lots of shenanigans in Mississippi over many years. I'm starting to think even the commissioners are in on this thing. And yesterday on 680am I hear Mike Pratt say he used to tell the UL fans to be careful when they would insinuate that Cal pays for players because your guy could be doing the same thing. Is there anyone connected to college basketball that doesn't know this wide spread cheating is going on and has been for many many years. I'm sure college basketball and all the overpaid elite involved will survive this but the books written in the future on this subject should be quite entertaining.
