I liked all their fans I met last year. I am hoping they get a slam dunk hire. Would like to see them return to prominence but it may not be realistic.
The fan base is loyal, but it is small, and they don't travel.I liked all their fans I met last year. I am hoping they get a slam dunk hire. Would like to see them return to prominence but it may not be realistic.
I remember that exact thing about their fanbase.Even in the championship days, they rarely filled the Orange Bowl.
I think Steve Kragthorpe is a better comparison....One must wonder if something like this is going on with Bobby Petrino. Most if not all fans of college football assumed his second stint here would be like the first in terms of the offense. Well, one and half years in it looks nothing like those days. The longer it takes for Petrino to find that again, the sooner he may find himself in Al Golden's shoes. I'm not predicting it or saying it's likely...
Charlie Strong not interested in the Miami job:

If I'm reading his exact quotes (not the author's interpretation), Coach Strong never says he is not interested. He says the usual coach speak about having the best job in the country and being focused on his current job. We've all heard these words before...before a coach leaves for said job.
True but it makes no sense for him to leave Texas....getting paid $5 Million a year...Miami can't match that...plus as of right now his job appears to be safe.
As far as Petrino getting the Ville back to where he had them before, I do believe he will and maybe better. Strong left him a good D but not a lot on O and most all of Strong's guys are gone. The team this year is too young on the O but they are getting better, they played one of the best D's
in the country in B.C.! It is getting there and will continue to get better.
