I'm talking about the center by "committee" for next season.

UofL has:

Mangok
Onuaku
Mahmoud
Stockman

All will or could potentially play the center position. I'm really curious if Matz will get into the lineup this season.
How do you see the center position shaping up for next season? Things to work on? Things you hope to see? Individual player improvements?

Sounds interesing

Stockman is the Wild Card. We have seen enough of the other guys to know what they potentially bring to the table. Not so with Matts.
Will be interesting to see if he makes it into the rotation.

Stockman is a wild card. I would really like to see what he is capable of in game. I'm hoping the others all improve in at least some ways, and that they can develop at least some semblance of a post game. They need to be able to at least be a small scoring threat to keep defenses honest and to help out offensively in a pinch. I feel better about their defense for the most part- though that could use improving as well.

Would like to see a couple of these guys if not all get a mean streak about them that would last throughout a game and a season. They can be nice off of the court though.

Mangok- I am not sure about his game and how far he can go! Great motor, and you can't really coach a kid to give effort. You can tell him but he has to want to put it out there. Has the ability to be a rim protector, runs the floor well...but will he develop any type of offensive game?

Onuaku- Showed flashes last season that he could be not just good be really good! Coach said his main problem was effort. Hopefully Onuaku, has worked on his body & conditioning even more during the off-season. I think he has a good offensive game, not great as I'm sure he dominated on the HS level because he was just bigger. I think trying out for the USA team will be a great wake up call and only further help his desire to improve.

Mahmoud- Showed the highest skill level of all the bigs but we have to remember that the young man was once a SG until he grew into a 7-Footer ala Anthony Davis. Not saying the kid will be the next AD but it helps explain his high basketball IQ and good passing ability. I read somewhere he has range out behind the arch as well. All Mahmoud is missing is more weight. Should be interesting to see what he looks like year 3. I think this year he actually backs up Johnson at the 4.

Stockman- Last year CRP raved about how his development was coming along before the season started. As fans we didn't get to see him because he got hurt and I assume he missed so many games that essentially they treated it like a redshirt year. I actually think he is the WildCard because unlike Mahmoud he already has some weight to go along with his height so it may allow Mathiang to slide over to the 4 and Stockman play the 5 if CRP wanted to go long and Mahmoud or Johnson were unavailable because of injury or fouls.

We do not have an ACC championship quality center on the roster right now.....

3 out of the 4 are severely challenged offensively and the other just wants to be an engineer.....

IMHO......the 5 spot prevents us from being a final 4 caliber team AGAIN this year.....

Mangok may be the most frustrating player I've ever watched here......how could such a good athlete have such bad hands?

Mango wilts against bigs who are physically stronger than him. Anas needs to bulk up and step up if we are to contend for an Elite 8 or Final Four spot.

Onuaku needs to step up as well. He has the size and frame but not the effort and skill yet.
