Malzahn' blowing air for the Near/Miss game with Louisville. "Louisville is a good team, we had a bunch of new kids and needed to find out where we were!" Lamar Jackson (UL) qb., may be starting sooner rather than later for his valiant effort in rallying the CARDS to a NEAR win after Louisville fumbled the ball for an Auburn Defensive TD!! During the 1st half the Cards had NO run-game what so ever and allowed Auburns Defense to push around the Cards Offensive efforts. But time and again, after Lamar Jackson, entered the game rallied the Cards who were down 17-0 to 31-24! Even the run-game turned in the Cards favor. I thought I was seeing an aberration of Teddy Bridgewater rebirthed yet again for UofL!

I also noticed as the game progress on that the CARDS game evolved and we were running our Offense just like Auburn's...and we got better! Had we started the game like that I wonder what the end score would have been?

I feel a whole lot better for this season than I did before the emergence of Lamar Jackson. I thought that the O-Line began to jell somewhat as well after LJ emergence as well.

I'm not sure the O-Line jelled as much as Lamar bailed them out. Either way he was a stud today

However, it MAY have cost us a different QB. What do you make of this?

Sounds like a young man that is doubting his own skills a little bit.......UofL needs confident young men especially at the QB position.....if there are doubts, then he needs to do both parties a solid and pull his verbal........the Cards need some more OL or DL studs anyway more than they need 2 QB's in next years FR class. Good luck to the young man.

Oden redshirts and puts TWO years between himself and Jackson. LJ goes to The League after his third season. Those two guys aren't really competing head to head...

That could work for Jackson and Oden. But then you have Pass on campus next year. I haven't seen Oden or Pass play, but I get the impression from those who have, that Pass is the type of talent that won't be satisfied to wait long for his time to shine. In a trio of 4 star QBs, I believe it may be a case of wrong place, wrong time for Oden. Geez, we have a lot of viable options at QB. Theoretically a really nice problem to have.

Actually, from what I saw Friday and Saturday nites, Pass is the guy to be concerned about. Pass doesn't want to sit behind Jackson, and Pass isn't redshirting.

Oden needs to be patient and watch this play out...

Or Pass comes and Jackson moves to the slot, either way we are going to be in great shape.

Bobby says he is going to get Lamar Jackson on the field one way or the other...he's that good! Get both Jawon Pass and Lamar Jackson on the same team and voilla the CARDS are set!

Agree 100%.Once Auburn realized the speed and desire of Jackson to use it,they had to account for him in the read option.Enter deception and running lanes for Brandon Radcliff.

Bonafon is a dual threat guy,but not one who really wants to run the ball. The read part of that option was not there.Jackson changes that.

Looking at the Main Page Oden is now a 3*...WTF...I'd like to get both Pass and Oden to Redshirt...Or have Pass Redshirt and Oden Greyshirt...That seperates both of them class wise, and gives an extra year between Pass and Jackson...Thus you'd have Jackson as a Junior., and Pass as a Redshirt Freshman (Soph), and Oden as a True Freshman.

The problem is going to come with Reggie and Kyle...I can't see Reggie leaveing, but I can see Kyle looking for a better oppotunity some place else...WKU and Jeff Brohm would be a GREAT Fit!!!

Will Gardner has just had BAD LUCK his entire career with injuries, and if I'm not mistaken will graduate next spring.

Any player going to any quality P5 school is going to have some stiff competition on the depth chart. It's a fact of life in sports that you have to earn playing time. If a player gets recruited by Louisville, they have to assume they are going to get challenged. Nothing will get handed to them no matter their ratings and reputation. If they want to go somewhere and start from Day 1, and not have to look over their shoulders, there are tons of places, many outside the P5 leagues.

I think it's safe to say that there will be departures and decommitments after Jackson's performance. Unlike hoops, Jackson cannot go pro until after his junior year. He should be the starting QB for three seasons. I doubt he will want to move to receiver.

I predict either Pass or Oden will decommit. Maybe both. I think Bolin will transfer for sure. I believe Gardner will stay on and Reggie's decision I think will be determined by what the two freshmen commits do. Injuries can always open the door for a quality backup. If Pass stays on, Reggie will probably leave. If both recruits leave, Reggie is the backup.

We all know now why Ferguson left the program. He saw the writing on the wall. It's a great thing to have more great players than you need but the OSU situation at QB is rare. I just can't see all these guys who want to play willing to sit at UofL when they could play at more traditional schools. Bolin would end up at a non power 5 school but the other three most likely would.
