Silver lining is that this team is a ton deeper than anyone could have imagined. No excuse Saturday. Go Cards.

Uk game doesn't matter guess not to some of you.But i'm sure their is more fans that it does than doesn't!

We all want to see the Cards defeat the Dark Side, but the cold hard truth is non conference games are simply not as important as conference games. If he has to miss games, now is the time.

If the Cards can manage a win over UofK without being at full strength, then it'll make the win that much sweeter.

It's better to be at full strength (or close to it) for the ACC anyway. Let him rest it and hopefully be better by the start of league play. Plus, it's a great opportunity for Adel and Matz to get playing time in a meaningful situation.

I have not watched much UK this year. I'm curious as to how we match up.

It's not life or death to me if we don't beat UK. What it is.....not having to listen to their nasty fans and them dogging us. Priceless!!!!!!

I think the wings were always going to be the difference for us in the UK game. Onuaku may just have to give us few more minutes than otherwise. Lee and Lewis still likely to have a field day against UK, and the game is still probably only going to be close due to playing at their place. On a neutral floor we still win relatively easily, and at our place we would crush them.

I just don't know how you guys have so much confidence... But OK

I'd rather win at UK than any other regular season game including conference games.
A random meaningless conference game, I would agree. A game that cost you a conference championship, no way.

Winning the ACC is far more important than beating LPT. Even top four (double bye) seeding in the ACC tourney is more important. Only a certain faction of our fanbase would disagree.

"Elite program", my a$$...

I think you've hit on the issue for most of our we-have-to-beat-LPT fans. It's not the game itself, it's managing the opposing fanbase.

And I understand that. But that's personal and doesn't change the importance of this game for others. You have to manage LPT fans in your life. Personally, I like the challenge of doing it even when we lose. Just tell 'em we're a football school.

The average UK fan's self-worth is tied to their basketball success. If the Cards can make them miserable, then I'm all for it.

Also it isn't meaningless because winning on the road at a top 15 opponent is huge for our RPI.

It's unbelievable that some don't understand the importance of winning this game for fan and recruiting reasons.
This year's recruiting class is awesome. We have a 5 star kid coming next year. In on some other top talent. The kids that go to UK won't come here. We aren't a NBA d league. Who wins or loses Saturday won't change that.

I am optimistic but not very confident just because I've seen the screw jobs teams in general have suffered over the years in that building. The freaking Lakers could play them there and I and I still wouldn't feel confident about UofK losing the game. It is that bad.

Exactly. That's one of the reasons winning the game would be so sweet.

You all are approaching mythical proportions with the hyperbole. It no more true that UK gets calls at home than it is UofL gets calls at home. Its just not true. If you all can provide data to support you're position, I'll listen.

Kind of like your moron football fans.....except our basketball program actually is a player in the ACC as well as nationally. Your FB program otoh is one of if not the most moribund P5 program.

Come on, you're smarter than that. Of course guys like Zipp and Cue Card are going to say this game doesn't matter. When you have only won 1 out of 8 games against a team that's what you do, you say the game isn't that important.
The truth is they want this game more than any other game on the schedule, they will never admit it but we all know it's true.

When have you heard me say how important the LPT football game is on our football schedule? And we own your worthless football imposter a$$ to the tune of the last five in a row. Kinda shoots your old slapd!ck logic right in the keister, don't it?

Truth be told, the football game is more important than the basketball game. For one thing, there are fewer football games played. For another, it's an embarrassment to lose to your football team. And not that an LPT fan would understand this, but who wants to go into the postseason off a loss?

LPT Football: We're more important than basketball...

Poor BBN, they just don't have the advantage of knowing how important your BB conference is to your season. Poor guys just don't know what it's like to play in the Big East and now ACC night in and night out. Not only play(like SEC football) but actually win and be the top dog or at the top of some the best BB teams in all the land. Who cares if you are in a league, if you can't play with the big boys.

Well let's see now. Yes, this game is important to us. About as important as your fanbase says about your sorry excuse of a football program and it's wonderful record versus Florida and Tennessee not to mention most any other $ec football program. uselessakay dominates the $ec basketball because, in the past, none of your conference brethern gave a big rats butt about basketball. And if you deny that then you are a liar. Thanks for visiting from big blow land this Holiday Season and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

Obviously, you have not followed many games over the years. It's a running joke with fans here and my UofL buddies that we seem to hardly ever get calls at home.Btw,when I say running,I'm going back decades.

Same for UK fans. Although you all seem to think otherwise, we also seem to rarely get calls at home either. And, I've been watching for close to 30 years myself. I'm sure the perception has been formed by only watching the UK - UofL game. Otherwise, I don't think you'd have that opinion.

I wouldn't say "the average UK fan's self-worth is tied to (UK's) basketball success", but I do believe the fanatical fans from both fanbases are this way, you know, the types that frequent message boards.

Two things I've never heard an LPT fan say:

"We're not a basketball school."

"We're not elite."

Tells you all you need to know about how LPT fans see themselves.

No need to be proud. You have Matt Jones and Oscar Combs.
