I dont care if there are only 3 games left, this is absolutely 100% unacceptable.

Mahmoud was always a guy to be used in situations as a role player - not a 25-35 MPG guy. He is a shot blocking specialist change of pace that can make an impact on one end of the court and screw up the other team's flow.

He is extremely limited offensively and logging heavy minutes exposes it in the most awkward ways at times. His 5 foot bank shot that hit the backboard and nothing else in the first half last night, for example.

His specialty this year is being posterized. Fitting way for the game to end last night - Anas getting dunked on again.

One thing Padgett will need to improve as he moves ahead in his coaching career is his body language. When something bad happens he very commonly lowers his head and gives off a very defeatist posture. It’s not surprising given his inexperience but something he will need to work on. When things are going sideways, these young players need their coach to be the steady presence.

Mahmoud is one of the bigger disappointments for me over the last 15 years. He came in as a pure project and showed brief flashes of his agility and defensive presence but never committed to working hard, adding weight and muscle and really focusing on his game.

I scanned through his stats and counted 3 double doubles....3! For our 7 foot center! For his career...not this season.

I didn't feel like compiling all the stats but go take a glance at his stats vs ranked, power 5 and mid-major teams. His stats would look even worse if we took away all of the data from terrible non-conference teams.

He's a very modest talent to put it nicely. Didn't drow up around the game and doesn't have any instincts or aggressiveness to play it at a high level.

Mahmoud was a complete project and needed to develop by competing each day against talented big men who could help him improve. But because Pitino was so weak in recruiting this position Mahmoud was forced to play a lot before developing. Maybe his lack of development was because of his own lack of hunger but the fact he was our only option says more about Pitino than anything.

He wasn’t supposed to be the only option. How to you plan for a ridiculous decision by Jalen Johnson leaving? You don’t - shit happens. Besides, pitino would’ve figured out how to make it work.

Pitino's poor recruiting forced him to take too many projects including Mahmoud and Stockman. It catches up with you.

His classes were top 5-10 annually. It’s attitudes / opinions like yours that helped create the climate that gave us the Bowen situation.

Yeah, that is always the talking point but between guys that never showed up, guys that never panned out and inability to consistently recruit big men it was irrelevant.

I kind of agree with this... when he first started getting playing time, he showed some real flashes, was an immediate fan favorite. He just didn't develop at all.

Yep. I remember telling guys during his sophomore year that he was going to be a 1st round draft pick in 2 years and then he just never put on weight or developed any further.

I remember the Duke game last year 17 points 11 rebounds. Spin moves to the hoop. That what I kept expecting him to do again this year consistently. It hasn't happened even once.

Wasn’t that the game his dad came or got to watch on TV for the first time? Must have been a fluke or else we need to get his dad back here to straighten him out.

I can remember a 2 week stretch last season when Anas was the best player in the league. Or am I dreaming that? I don't get it with this dude.

No overseas players again? Dang, you just eliminated Gorgui Deng. You know, star Center, still in the NBA, started on 2013 Fat Ass ring team. Mahmoud has been the softest player I ever remember since the 1960's. Good kid just not tough enough.
