We have nothing down low this year but skinny guys that can't finish. Mahmoud with 0 FG attempts and 1 rebound is embarrassing.

Anas might be 7+ foot tall but he's a natural 3 without the jump shot.

Team needs to rally around themselves and come up with some type of identity. Right now they just don't have any.

Anas is a not a natural 3 IMO. He’s a 140 lb post player. To be here four years and to not have changed his body type is a disgrace to him, the program and Ray Ganong.

It’s ridiculous that he’s had the resources we have at his disposal and I swear I don’t think he’s gained a pound or added any physical strength.

I’m tired of watching him and Ray. I say cut their minutes dramatically and go small. They’ve both had their opportunity.

SC, that was my attempt at humor. A natural 3 without a jump shot? LOL. Really? You couldn't see that for what it was? Who has ever heard of a natural 3 without a jump shot. Natural 3's have great jump shots! :D

I understand the frustration with Anas and his lack of weight. Believe it or not, he is bigger than he was when he first got here. The issue is he isn't big enough. He's just too thin and light to play against a player like Delgado who weighs around 240+lbs has the beef to throw Anas or anyone else on this team to the side and do whatever they want when they want. How do you combat that? You play ball denial defense. You have to deflect and keep the other team from getting the ball where they want when they want. We didn't do that today and that's the main reason we lost IMO. We should have won this game. No doubt about it.

They are both offensively challenged. Both a easily pushed out either before or after receiving the ball. Once they get the ball their post moves are painful to watch. I think it will be very difficult to continue to play them together.

I won't be critical of their work ethic, they are really trying and giving everything they have to be successful. Basketball is the toughest sport to play, it requires elite athletism and skills. It really is evident who can play and who can't. This team while athletic they aren't laterally quick in fact they are very slow across the board which is going to really show up on the defensive end. That is where coaching comes into play. That is not going to be easy for Padgett.

There were many times that Spalding and Mahmoud did not give good effort. Very lazy on defensive switches and not going hard after the ball. If Mahmoud was giving effort, he’d have 10 rebs per game just by accident. He had ONE rebound tonight in 20 minutes.

There is a difference between aggressiveness and effort. Neither are aggressive it shows up defensively and in rebounding. Anas is extremely slow in reacting to ball screens, it has burned him twice. I say that is a lack of being aggressive and attention to detail others will say it is because he is lazy. I don't buy he is lazy.

Agree with most of the points relating to Anas. One good thing, though I wish he wouldn't bite every time, is he had, I think, 7 blocks.

I think Anas actually might be lazy. Maybe that’s why he hasn’t gotten any bigger. Maybe that’s why he was the player who first publicly stated practices are easier, etc. I think Nwora and Sutton need to play increased minutes at Anas & Ray’s expense.

Didn't we hear all summer what a superstar Ray was going to be..? Of course most of that came from the biggest liar on the planet....

Ray's shooting percentage from 3 feet in is ridiculously terrible, his footwork is bad, he's weak physically and mentally. I hate to be that harsh on the guy, but the truth is the truth..

I agree with the sentiment of benching them, give Malik more minutes,, give Nwora and Sutton more minutes..

I think CDP is going to realize that he will need to play Perry more for his defense and ball handling. Snider and King are liabilities on D and Adel is a turnover machine when he has to dribble through traffic.

When we down mostly by 7-8 points, we made our run with our tallest player being Adel 6-7. I agree that maybe going forward we treat Ray and Anas as the same player and don’t play them together. Bring in Sutton if you need defense and rebounds, maybe Nwora if you need offense.

This post is spot on. It's embarrassing that Anas can't finish a layup(I prefer he dunk the ball) at the rim as a senior in college.Sutton plays much bigger than 6'5, 6'6. He needs all of Ray's and Mahmoud's minutes. He can be an Ellis Myles type(Sutton can also shoot it much better) for us. CDP really has a bare cupboard when it comes to our 4/5 guys.

A better comparison for Sutton would be Bobby Turner. Marginal outside shooter and plays much bigger than 6-5 (Bobby was 6-3/ 6-4 and could embarrass power forwards under the glass.

Sutton can hit the 3. I think he's a really good player also, and he should have a sizeable role on the team all year.

We have to remember Padgett is still trying to find combinations he likes, some of it is match-up based, some of it is figuring out what "5" function the best in which circumstances.

I don't think Spalding and Mahmoud should be on the floor at the same time. It should be one or the other IMO. I would rather see Spalding slide to the 5 spot, play Sutton at the 4, King at the 3, Adel at the 2 and either Snider or Perry at the PG spot.

Second five would be Williams, Thomas, Nwora, Mahmoud, Perry or Snider IF you want to go 10 deep.

Also would mind seeing Perry, Snider, Nwora, Sutton, and Adel on the floor at the same time. Still waiting on VJ to live up to his HS hype.

Unfortunately Anas is the truer 5 or at least has been playing that position longer. He has some post moves whereas Ray has been playing more of a 4 evident by him taking some 3’s. However, at this point, not sure if he can make an adjustment. Anas is a better passer out of the 5 spot. Wouldn’t it be nice if we still had Matz, at least for 5 fouls.

If Anas could show some aggression and dunk the ball that would help his percentage. Same with Ray. Those finesse finger roll layups are fine for guards but those two need to dunk the ball.

Ray plays aggressively against lesser opponents. When he has to face a bulky center who can block, he fades. Anas is a soccer player, and Williams is so raw I don't know what to think. Our frontline is so soft we aren't going anywhere. Jaylen Johnson would really help this team right now.

I think this guy gets it.

Check and double check Cue.Mahmoud is a forward(been sayin it for a while) and that identity thing is as true as it's been for a while also.
I can remember many identity crises from Crum years, where the team took its lumps early because of a strong schedule, which is true this year.
They need to write their own story. They're living in several other stories right now,and it needs to be their's.What makes it their's,is taking some lumps, learning and adjusting.

I'm not worried in the least and teams like this are what makes me rekindle old memories...
