Love even more Trez pointing out that Cat Barber was saying just yesterday that he seemed fine when he said "UL shouldn't press them"

Love even more Pitino saying Rozier was sick day before.

Just man up and accept your loss, Gottfried. You team was out of their mind from 3 and still lost by double digits.

That being said, he was still very complementary of us and CRP. Taking the entire thing in context, he didn't sound like a sore loser to me, he sounded like a coach accepting that he got beat by the better team and coach

I didn't catch that.

When I turned on espn news he was into his presser and stated his bewilderment that a guy "averaging what, two points a game?" Came in and scored 7. Then he went into barbers illness.

Good for him if he was super classy otherwise, but I didn't see or hear it.

waiting for a report on bobby lutz on whether or not louisville is still "his town."

Not sure what Gottfried was whining about because he got 11 points out of a player who only played 9 minutes. Kyle Washington only averaged 6 points a game on the year and came 1 point shy of doubling his output in about half the amount of time he normally plays.

The Cards outscored NS State by 12 points in the second half. He got out coached and he doesn't like it. I get it. He got boomed.

Cat was sick after the game because Terry stole his Meow Mix during the game

Gottfried was very complementary of UL and Pitino. Don't know why the Hate is needed. Cat was obviously not himself during the game, he had no jump. He did what any good coach does and lets everyone watching know Cat is better than what he showed that night.

And they weren't out of their mind from 3...They were 9-20...That's like 1.5 made threes over their season average...

And Washington has posted double figure scoring 10 times this year. Check his game log, he started the first half of the year and averaged 9 a game.

He also discussed Gill, and talked about how he recruited him a little and knew he was a good player we just didn't have room for him...He didn't act like he never heard of him...

Instead of telling Gottfried to take the loss like a man why don't you take the win like a man. Sure, you can say Pitino outcoached him last night, just like I could say Gottfried out coached him last month...

Came here to give congratulations, which I still will, but could not help but to respond to this.

NC State shot 22.9% in the first 2 games of the NCAA tourney from behind the arc, and only 33% on the season. 9 for 20 is 1 shy of 50% so compared to what they normally shoot, they were shooting out of their minds.

Still wasn't enough though. In the end, the better team won. NC State has a extremely bright future and should be a big time force for years to come with the talent they have and the talent Gottfried will bring in. You guys are in good hands.

It's not hate, Bob, just a little post game chest thumping on our board. There were just a number of comments leading up to the game that ratcheted it up for UL fans...."booger-gate"; Lutz saying "this is my town" while walking off the floor here in Louisville last month; Anya saying twice that the only difference with UL from that game is "no Chris Jones." Lacy saying "I'm not a trash talker but Quenten Snider has his hands full"; Barber warning UL not to press...

None of that is egregious trash talk or anything, but the set the tone for the post game banter and how our fan base heard Gottfried. Gottfried seems like a good dude, I'm sure it's tough doing a presser right after a season ending loss. Congrats on a great year and good luck.

They shot 35.7% from 3 on the year. Yes 9 of 20 is one short of 50%, it is also only 1.7 more than 35.7% percent. If they had only hit 7 of 20 they would have been below the season average. So, again, 9 of 20 is not shooting out of their minds for this team. It is slightly above average. Don't really mean to argue over small percentages, but to act like State was shooting "out of their mind" just to be close in this game is a slap in the face of the team.

I think the OP was more calling out Cat Barber than your coach. What an unlikeable kid. Wipes a booger on one of our players. Openly disrespects the President of the United State over a bracket choice. Runs his mouth about us not pressing him. I think Trez's response after the game was spot on.

Not according to what ESPN was saying last night but here's the kicker. It doesn't matter. NS State lost. UofL won. Most on here have went out of our way to be complementary to the Wolfpack team and their fans in spite of suffering their 14th loss of the season. Lots of people didn't believe they belonged in the NCAA tourney, and by advancing to the sweet sixteen and taking out Nova in the process, they proved they did indeed belong. You guys have a terrific team of returning players to build around, but it's time for you to let it go and look forward to next year. You guys will be fine. You have a good coach, lots of talent and IMO a very classy fan base. We all thrilled to be in the ACC and we're happy to be proving we belong at the big boy table too. We knew it. Lots of doubters out there didn't. Now they do.

..... because he was sick. Also there are 4 other players on the floor at any given time and State relied heavily off the bench compared to UofL and won games in the past when Cat Barber wasn't a factor. Cat Barber is not the whole team. That is not excusing a loss one person getting gut rot.

You also realize these are 18-21 year olds. Even though they are adults, they are still wildly immature compared to those that are 5, 10, 20 years older. My pops was married and defending our country at that age and was still pretty immature.

These guys are going to say things and react to things before, after, and during games in ways that will make us shake our heads, even UofL players have done the same I am sure. Doesn't make them stupid or have bad character. The Obama remark was made without him knowing he would be filmed.

Just look at the kid from WVU before the UK match-up. Yeah, he provided the UK team some quality bulletin board material. But just look at how the fans and media were frothing at the mouth and turning it into WWE-esque soundbite drama, ripping the guy to pieces. I definitely don't think the pregame bravado warranted that.

Either way, the only thing that matters is that nobody got hurt and the score when the clock hits 0.0. The better team won last night. Good luck the rest of the way to the Final Four. Hope to see the Cards there.

As long as we're arguing over percentages...NC St was 9-18 when they hit their last 3, when the game
was still in the balance, before they hoisted a couple forced threes in the last few minutes. . If they're on their season average they're on 6.5 3's at that point, and down 9 instead of one. I guess we could now argue over the terminology of "out of their mind."

After the chirping that went on from NC St. since the regular season game I'm not sure what you'd expect to see on a Louisville message board immediately after the game.
