What Clemson was doing - putting a defender on the ball and denying/face guarding everyone else is the easiest press to break. How so? You set everyone (the four besides the player inbounding the ball) about 10 foot off the baseline. Ball side one sideline, one edge of the lane, off ball one edge of lane and the other opposite sideline. The player that is ball side closest to the sideline walks his defender in and goes long. The inbounder leads him with a touchdown pass. Do that once or twice and you’ll have no problem getting the ball inbounds.
That play was set up and ready to go except McMahon cuts toward the baseline and Nwora thinks he’s going long.
Again, love Mack and the new staff but they’re making big bucks, this is basketball 101 type stuff. Tired of seeing this crap three games straight.
