LOUISVILLE VS WINTHROP GAME THREAD- 7PM ACCNX

Well, it's the same thing you're missing. Cards have no inside scoring threat so they have to shoot 3's or force a drive.

So far, not making the 3's. Smith, Pryor and Edwards all have missed.

Cards with more turnovers (8) in the first 10 minutes than they had all game against Morehead. (5)

I don't think the guys are used to playing on Fridays because they are not focused.

I don't think Friday has anything to do with it.. To much dribbling not enough passing.. As I said on the Collision Course, I don't like that Kelsy doesn't call timeouts to fix some things. Especially when we're giving up offensive rebounds and committing turnovers. That stuff needs to be addressed, can't just let them play on...

Louisville hoops has historically been a bad loose ball program but tonight it's as one sided I've seen in awhile. It's like the ball is on a string for Winthrop. Dude even had the ball land in his lap as he was on the floor.

It's simply mind boggling how often the ball keeps finding Winthrop players on rebounds and loose balls. It's crazy.
Mind boggling to me Kelsey isn't pulling some of these guys off to the side and correcting some issues. Another thing that's mind boggling is the amount of unforced turnovers we have. And they just keep doing it !

Yes, that's why I made my somewhat facetious comment the guys weren't ready to play on a Friday. They haven't been anywhere near this careless with the ball this season.

This game has been very disappointing and they have a lot of improving to do to even sniff a winning record. Smith is the only reliable 3 point shooter and he takes a lot of questionable shots.

Did like seeing Rooths getting more minutes. Kelsey has to get him on the court as he adds athleticism the team lacks.

Was at the game a couple notes:

Worst game of the year, even the Tennessee game. Could have something to do with about to go to Bahamas idk

Rein has to start, threat every time he shoots

kesean is in his own head trying to do too much. Just needs to slow down and let the game flow

Only post up we had was chucky (made the basket)

We desperately need Koren back. FATT being point was not fluid, but we have no other option

I thought Rooths looked very good as well as Hadley

I’ve never seen the ball hit the floor more off a miss, inexcusable. We are boxing out but nobody would go get it, it was better in the second half

Overall sloppy sloppy game and still won by 15, team needs to let the game flow. Trying too hard to run plays on offense. I’ll take the sloppy win before Bahamas, clean it up and we will be fine

not saying this is his intention at all, but i was a huge phil jackson fan, from after 2nd title at chicago all the way thru with my beloved lakers, and his phil-osophy was to let the players play and figure it out themselves, and thus not call timeouts until crunch time. obviously different in college, but could be that CPK is figuring out who should play with whom and sometimes game time is the only time to really tinker. again, not saying it's his intention, but sometimes not allowing them to make mistakes doesn't teach them much. like if you pull a kid after one mistake how does he ever get the chance to work thru it? regretfully, with me in life, first mistake is always the result of conditions beyond my control, second time is always my fault, third time never happens. if you pull me after my first goof i'd never get the chance to learn it. but i think by the end of the year, things should hopefully be more tight rotation wise and less loose with the ball.

to me it's way too "okay' to make a turnover.

careless turnovers you need an a$$ chewing and/or a seat on the bench

You don't pull them and not put them back in, you pull them, tell them what they did wrong, sit them a little bit and send them back in.. You can't just allow them to repeat mistakes time after time without repercussions or they'll never quit doing them..

WAY TOO MUCH dribbling.

light years better than last year, but still a good ways away from a good looking offense that's hard to guard

Tennessee is legit good. They can lock teams down. Baylor just found out. Tonight was just sloppy Pryor and Edwards were miserable with turnovers.

Johnson being out is a pretty big deal. Edwards is serviceable when Chucky is out but they really need Johnson especially against good teams.

Good news is the ACC is terrible.
