LOUISVILLE VS SYRACUSE GAME THREAD- 7PM ESPNEWS

I want to have hope. I want to believe this stretch of Louisville hoops is temporary, but that just may be wishful thinking.

What I do know is Louisville has lost 27 out of their past 32 games. It's still so hard to believe.

5 - 27

And it's likely going to get uglier. If this doesn't stop soon we're going to see numbers that will be so bad it could land the program into mediocrity for a decade.

In this game tonight at the Yum if the Cards again are run out of their own gym by a average at best Syracuse team, there may be no more hope left for anyone.

I agree. I hope for the best each game but at this point I don't truly believe they will win. Too many disappointments so far.

I just don't see this squad and coaches beating the Cuse zone tonight.

This is a game I think the Cards could steal a win. The Syracuse zone is not as good as previous years. Boeheim has not been happy with Cuse’s rebounding either.

If the Cards can be patient on offense and move the ball (big if), they will have shot opportunities inside the paint and outside the 3. I’m just not sure they will be able to take advantage. Who does KP trust to flash to the free throw line and make decisions?

Last I checked Cuse was a 9 point favorite. I don’t trust Cuse or Louisville but this is a game I could possibly see the Cards winning.

Up by 1 with 14 first half turnovers. Cards could be up by 10 or more if they valued the ball more. Some of the turnovers are comical though.

I saw that camera shot of Jerry Eaves on the baseline as well taking it all in.

Cards can win this game. We will see if they can hang on.

I'm hoping they can prove me wrong tonight and win but yeah have to cut down on turnovers or Cuse wins.

Wheeler was played at the time. El shared the ball. BIGs played like bigs, KP Coached with passion.

He did but we win if he kicks it or pulls up. Thought he could blow by Ole boy,but he didn't.

Was there ever really any doubt this happened? Louisville basketball is as snakebitten that a program can be.

It's truly remarkable.

Agree but I think in that moment he panicked about how much time was left. It happened quickly and you’re definitely not expecting the Syracuse player with the ball to fall down.

El also might have had a flashback to the App St. game where he missed getting the winning shot off by a tenth of a second.

This game was progress for this team even though we blew a couple of opportunities at the end.

We just lost another one point game in spectacular fashion after getting smoked by our hapless rival this weekend. Count me as skeptical to being excited about this “progress”.

And for anyone who is really excited, there is an arena full of open seats so get some tix for the game on Saturday.

I'm not mad at Ellis. I wish he would've pulled the trigger at the foul line. He had the hot hand. It's the extra dribbling gets us every time 🤷

Just stop losing in the dang Yum Center. You’re sitting at 2 wins in January, nobody expects much the rest of the season. Just start finding ways to win instead of lose in that building. Before this group got on campus it used to mean something to protect it. Get back to that at the very least

17 assists......but 21 turnovers and 4-10 from FT line. Ball game.

Man that totally unforced TO from Ellis at the top of the key late in the game to give Cuse that layup was a killer. I don't even know how he turned it over. I assume he dribbled off his foot or something.

Off his foot would have been more “acceptable”. He was trying to get fancy and simply dribbled the ball out of his own reach.
