As someone who isn't familiar with UL recruiting, how do ya'll feel about your class this year? Is it typical of the past few years?

I was definitely surprised to see ya'll come in and fare so well (record aside) against the ACC and given your success in the recent past I didn't know if the recruiting trail usually involved a lot of flashy superstars or more of a need-filling approach, ranking aside.

The class is good not great. We have won a lot of games with a lot less. We need to move up to into top 15 in recruiting to really finish this thing off.

At the moment, Rivals rates it as the 2nd best class we have ever landed...

That's what I figured. I'm a Clemson alumnus so I'm used to us pulling in Top 15 classes (this year is even better as we're pulling a top class and filling a lot of needs).

I figured that UL's classes were typically not as highly touted by the media as I'm used to. There are those specific programs that tend to do a lot with their players (which honestly says a lot more than pulling in the best recruits). I was just curious about how ya'll are feeling about this one specifically. Mixed opinions I see.

Any UL fan on here that says he has mixed opinions on this class is delusional. This is UL's 1 or 2 best classes ever. I'm pumped. Not to mention the kids that sat out last year finally get to play. If we continue to keep having success the classes soon enough will be in the top 10-15.

I'm pleased. I am always disappointed just a little bit when signing day comes and goes and not one new player commits and signs today. I'm pleased we hung on to GG and Jackson, he was a crucial recruit in my opinion I am disappointed that not one new player came today. We apparently had 2-3 scholarships left and I was hoping to hit on someone big today. Especially since 2-3 may not qualify why not over sign a little bit to absorb those who don't pan out academically?

I'm please with who they signed, disappointed that UofL landed 0 new players today.

I don't know all the details, but if ya'll have a few scholarships to burn, why was one pulled from the SC RB? Seems like it would have been worth getting him on campus and seeing what he could do.

Bobby Petrino can do wonders with the kids we pulled in today. As was stated, this is one of our best classes ever, and Petrino has done great things here with far less talent, so I don't think anyone that understands football and its history is disappointed with today's class. Hopefully once we continue to do it on the field we can move into the Top 20 and higher over the next few years.

And congrats to the Tigers. You guys obviously did well. That Thursday night game is going to be a good one.

Our need was at DB with 3 underclassmen going pro. We would have signed 25 today but we had no idea Redwine was going to flip to Miami. He just swore his allegiance to us Sunday.
Here is a list of schools that over signed and failed to tell players they are screwed.

Team  -  Signed LOI

Memphis   30
Tennessee   29
Auburn   28
Georgia   28
Texas   28
Mississippi State   28
South Carolina   28
Ohio State   27
Georgia Tech   27
Cincinnati   27
Kansas   27
Purdue   27

Maybe UK fans and the Dutch Fork coach should give them a talking too. Oh wait Shhh! There is a South Carolina school there.

Thanks! I was a bit upset when I heard it was on Thursday night. I don't much mind playing a tough team on a short week in a hostile environment (if we're championship caliber that shouldn't matter). The problem is, as a fan, it makes it more difficult to get a feel for the school and the environment.

The only ACC stadiums I haven't visited are Louisville and Pitt (and I guess to be fair I haven't seen Clemson play Miami in Miami, but I have been to the two recent Orange Bowls). I'll definitely be doing my best to make it up your way for the game!

Nice to have you visit a Louisville board hrigsby. We had a lot of drama in the past week with about 3 of our recruits, and closed on 2 out of 3. I'm pretty darned happy about the results of this years class coming in in the high 20's, as it stands right now. I would hope that the next several years we'll be up there, in the rare air, with Clemson in our recruiting prowess. Now that Petrino and his assistants have been making inroads into the 2016 and 2017 classes, I think we are all expecting top 20 classes next year and thereafter.

No doubt being the the ACC has had an effect like we haven't seen before. It sure is nice to finally have arrived and be in one of the Power 5 conferences. Looking forward to having Clemson come to Papa John's this Fall. Come see our game, stadium, and fine city as you'll be impressed.

Louisville's recruiting has never been in the upper levels on a consistant basis...Bobby's first stint here, his classes averaged aroung 49th...John L's. classes averaged in the high 50's (56-59), Charlie's classses averaged between 39-41...Thus, Louisville's succcess can be directly atributed to...Coaching!!!

We're happy about the class in that it's one of our best ever and we think it was good for this year.

The mixed emotions part our friend from Clemson is hearing from us is our desire and expectations to do better in the future.

This class is a great step in the right direction but it's not where we want to be.

There are a total of 21 signees between both schools (Lou-8,Clem-13) within 300 miles of Clemson. There are 0 within 300 miles of Louisville. In fact Louisville class doesn't have a player from KY or a surrounding state.

Louisville will never be a perennial top recruiting school, not enough talent within 300 miles to even complete a class.
