Louisville Left Out Of NCAA Tourney

I was SHOCKED...SHOCKED I tell ya. I thought we had created enough goodwill with the NCAA to not only get in, but get a pretty decent seed.;)

Per ESPN Louisville wasn't even in the first four out. Baylor, St. Mary's, USC and Notre Dame.

Apparently the Cards weren't getting in without winning the ACC Tournament.

Pretty clear the only thing they looked at was good wins. Texas has 14 losses and got a 10 seed. Oklahoma hasn’t won in forever, has 13 losses and got a 10seed. Florida St a 9 seed. We beat them 2 out of three and had a much better rpi. USC, Louisville, Oklahoma St all named in the original FBI investigation. As was Arizona and they get dropped to a 4 seed. This process gets worse each year.

NCAA college basketball is more corrupt than boxing used to be including the NCAA, the schools and the players. Sad what has become of what was once my favorite sport. It is rotten from top to bottom and I have little interest in it. First time I have not watched the selection show since its inception.

I wasn't surprised that we didn't make it but I was surprised that some of the other that made it over us. I guess I will have more free time now because I have no interest in watching the tournament now.

At least Don King and Bob Arum showed their faces.

Can somebody please tell me why the NCAA and ESPN both hate us. It seems like since we won it all in 2013 they have been out to destroy our program. After the way we have been treated, I could care less about the tournament this year.

Do you think they take an NIT bid? Wins still count. Gives the young players more experience. They shouldn't let seniors play in the NIT. Let it be a practice for next season focus.

Our basketball coaches have done a pretty good job enabling the NCAA in their efforts.

I think they already did the paperwork to accept the NIT.

Yeah that is what our idiot interim AD said. I like your idea of not playing the seniors, I would go further than that though. I would ask if any players plan to transfer or leave early and if it is a yes I wouldn't play them either.

Wrong shoe company and worse than that, we are an upstart and not part of the old boys network. A lot of jealousy about what we have accomplished working our way out of mid major status, having the most profitable program, the best arena, and having quality sports teams across the board. They would prefer to have us back in C-USA.

I have always suspected that was the case. Thanks for confirming it though. I hope they are happy knowing that was the only way they could beat us. I'll bet money that if Virginia wins it all this year, they will be on probation within 5 years.

I wish this angered me, but it really doesn't and that bothers me to no end. We have plenty to be angry about but at the same time, it's almost a blessing in disguise. The sooner this nightmare season is over with, the better. The sad thing is this is probably one of the better seasons we're going to see for the foreseeable future. We are toast.

A lot of our problems were self inflicted by certain members of our coaching staff. The thing that bothers me is that other programs are also named in the FBI investigation but are not currently affected by it. Alabama, Auburn, Miami, sUcK are facing inquiries just to name a few.

The difference is their schools have handled the situation differently and continue to play on if no big deal. I am also bothered by the fact that the kids and parents who helped violate the rules are once again exempt from prosecution.

My biggest concern about the future is the people making the decisions at our university. How much longer will we be hampered by bad leadership like Postel, Grissom and Tyra?

This is the truth, in spades. Unfortunately, we have problems on a state and local level also, with significant persons interested in our irrelevance if not overt demise.
I have said it many times earlier, I am just tired of stupid.....and we have it in abundance right now. In the best of times we have no margin for error. I, too fear, that our goose is cooked for a long time.

Earlier some raised an issue stating this might have something to do with the NBA. I thought that myself before someone posted it because they want rent money for the YUM. Something else to think about was that Jurich said many times if we have problems negotiating the YUM we can build an on campus arena. So are the people in charge concerned about our issues enough to navigate us through this?

I had the same reaction Koz. I wasn't even upset when I saw that Syracuse made it because they beat us at our own gym. I was stunned that Florida St. made it when we beat them twice. Also, Oklahoma was on a major losing streak at the end the last part of the season. It appears we are being penalized for the FBI deal and will be penalized again when the NCAA gets their chance.

UofL, USC, and OK St received unofficial bans.

Any team involved in the first look via the FBI was going to have to play at a top 20 level like AZ and Auburn, and force the NCAA to accept them.

If it was going to be close, the NCAA was going to take a non FBI mark. The NCAA wants to minimize bad press at their prime time events.

It is highly probable UofL was not going to get an invite even if they beat UVA at home.

Correct. I'd love to see the look on those idiots faces at the NCAA if you get an Arizona/Auburn finals!! I actually think Arizona has a really good chance.

That would be great. Or maybe Michigan St would just be the ultimate.

Do not be surprised if an FBI leak or two comes out during the Final Four. Not predicting that, but it could happen.
