Lousiville is targeting a number of highly-rated hybrid linebacker/safety prospects for the 2021 cycle and Dink Jackson appears to be a top priority.
"Coach Dennison is my main recruiter. I’ve talked with coach Sat, coach Holt and coach Ivey as well. My (high school) coach also said coach Nicholson asked about me the other day," said Jackson.
It seems the staff has an all hands on deck approach to recruiting Jackson, who was once committed to Florida from February through May of 2019. Since opening things up he's received offers from a number of blue blood programs like Michigan and USC in addition to previous scholarships from Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Penn State, and many others. While the competition for Jackson is fierce Louisville does have an advantage thanks to Jackson's relationship with a former Card.
"I love their ability to produce players in the league. Also one of my mentors, Trent Guy, played there so I have a connection with them because of him," advised Jackson.
Trent Guy played slot receiver at Louisville from 2006-2009 and was one of the best return men in the country and now works as a trainer. Jackson is one of his athletes. With Jackson's connections and the Louisville coaching staff's all-out blitz recruiting strategy, the Cards have a legitimate shot here. That being said, they need to get Jackson on campus and a visit hasn't developed yet.
"I don’t have any visit plans at the moment. Hopefully, I'll set some stuff up soon. I’m just trying to sort everything out and then take some visits," admitted Jackson.
Dave's Deliberations:
It appears Jackson is a priority target for Louisville and he seems to have a genuine interest in them. The problem is that he's never visited and he doesn't have any plans set up at the moment. He said he is still figuring out where he's going to visit so there is some hope for Louisville fans that a trip to S. Floyd is in the future. Until then, watch his visits.
