I know every fan base has one but UK fans are truly something special. KSR comments from BigBluSoTru that handle says it all.

We back great win . Over an excellent team. I knew Cal would right the ship. I figure with all the other top teams losing this past week. We should be ranked 5th monday. And the following week probably 2nd just maybe 1 again. Excellent big win tonite. Another resume builder. I’ve already booked final four accommodations . When will the Ncaa release tickets?

Their whole fanbase is obsessed with rankings. We had Thanksgiving for wife's BBN family yesterday and I was treated to some interesting moments. My relatively new to BBN daughter-in-law asked me what I thought about Louisville likely to be #1 when the next polls come out. She was somewhat shocked at my reply that it was immaterial and asked why. I explained that rankings only matter at the end of the year, anything before that is merely opinion. That got a vacant stare.

This was after a discussion that Duke's loss to Stephen F. Austin was bigger than uahkay's loss to Evansville. It came down to they had heard of Evansville (though one had trouble placing the city in Indiana) versus a school named after a guy they never heard of. Never mind SFA's recent appearances in the NCAAT.

The trip up East to the daughter's Turkey Day also yielded a pearl. One of her husband's aunts expressed surprise that Okie State had 5 black players on the floor. I guess word hasn't reached Massachusetts that west of the Hudson has been integrated for some time.

Aren't family get-togethers fun?

How did you handle yourself? Are you proudly wearing a black & blue eye?

No black and blue eye, but were they ever rolling! I have learned to keep a dry wit around BBN and sorta egg them on to further extremes.

I am still learning how to take the northeast WASP crowd. They are every bit as racist the older generations of BBN. Between interfaith marriages and a certain Card fan daughter of mine, they are becoming outnumbered.

Sounds like the kinda folks that also brought up politics at the Thanksgiving dinner table. :D

No politics at the table, but there are some differences between various siblings and spouses that are LOL funny. It was a great time and I hope you had one as well with your family.

My family belly laughed all day. The one KY fan never mentioned blue. We talked UofL, Lamar/Ravens and talked politics in agreement. :D

When talking to a UK fan one need always remember; these are the same people who nicknamed terry Wilson ( touchdown terry ) for what. Made their own championship trophy only to remove it from their case due to overwhelming ridicule. Got 40-0 tattoos while sitting at 38-0. Doow
Became latest member of the blueblood club after winning 10 games for the first time in 35 years. Continue to scream about being a member of the best conference in football while contributing nothing of their own to help the cause. Hated and fired a coach with similar accomplishments to the one they have and worship now. Constantly thump chests about # of titles they have in bball. Even though all but 3 were before dunking, 3 pointers and black people were allowed in the game. I know there is so much more but I'm tired .
