So glad mack doe this moving forward all they want to do is go in their and start up a bunch of crap. Lachlan and Sweeney crying like babys about it. media like them are the reason all they want to do is go in their and cause mayhem for fans players like asking about Dawkins to VJ. Good move Mack. They overlooked he didnt allow access at Xavier so it's his program to do as he wishes.trying to call him a hypocrite and the fans for not wanting them in their. I hate our local media!

Bobby V is actually defending Chris move to close the locker room and calling out other media members for being petty a bout it.

According to what I’ve heard we were one of the few who actually allowed media in the locker room. Sweeney and Laching can suck eggs. Why aren’t they complaining about Calimari he doesn’t allow the media into SuCks locker room.

I never once heard a media member complain about uk closing the door to media. UofL does it and it is a BIG deal. SMH.

My point exactly

Lachlame on Twitter today saying it does a public service for us as fans for them to be able to get into the locker room and ask the players questions. They are doing us a huge favor. What a bunch of self righteous crap Lochlame spews...

I’d hate to be a college athlete and have the creeping death of Tim Sullivan lurking around my locker room. Yikes!

On the one hand I always thought it was strange that journalists come into a locker room. On the other I think we as fans will lose out on the unvarnished, more stream of consciousness post game reactions. That’s often when you get your most engaging, sometimes funny, sometimes heartfelt postgame reactions from players. Everything is getting more sanitized. I for one don’t like when entities control the the media. I know people don’t like Sullivan and some don’t like Bozo or Crawford, but they provide a useful counterbalance to the “new” media outlets that are essentially beholden to the university.

Imagine if Louisville closed the Hospitality Room for the media? It is so amusing to see the Media carrying out handfuls of cookies, brownies and two or three drinks when they walk back out to cover the game. Actually, I don't see how they write or take pictures as much as they feed their face.

Believe if their is anything worthwhile noting as far as a player or coaches quote after a game. It will be written without them in the locker room . We are not going to miss anything !

This reminds me of the Bob Knight quote to the media after a game decades ago. Something to the effect of, "You all have chosen this profession that is maybe 1 or 2 steps above prostitution".

I agree with Coach Mack, media members are like Brussels Sprouts. Although I think he mentioned Asparagus.
Your mother asked you to try them when you were a kid. You did and they sucked, you tried them again and they still sucked. You grew up and ate what you wanted to eat, period!

The media is irrelevant and they know it. No access to the locker room will be an improvement for the players and mean nothing to anyone else. No one will even notice.

I have not watched national news of any type, listened to or read any local media for years and my life has improved because of it. Do yourself a favor and don't participate in the non-sense

True journalism in this country is dead.
Nah - it’s not, there’s plenty of it left. The real stuff just gets drowned out by all fair and balanced opinion masquerading as journalism and now, by trump calling anything that he doesn’t consider personally flattering - fake news.

I respectfully disagree and I'll leave this alone right here and remain as one of the silent majority. I know where you stand. You know where I stand. No need to hijack this thread. It doesn't do either of us any good.

Well you know where I stand and I know where you stand on Louisville athletics but, that doesn’t stop either from posting. Plus, I’m pretty sure you can’t hijack a thread titled “local media crying...”.

Lol - “silent majority”.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. It happened once before. It'll happen again. 2020. Media be damned.

I thought Crawford's reach about VJ was based on unreliable info, and, coming when it did took some of the excitement away from the start of the new era --- certainly for VJ. The media are doing for themselves, not for us.
