You used to be able to set your calendar by the topics on the message board. In the slow season, conference realignment filled the gap. And it was a somewhat addictive pursuit.
Landing in the ACC has cured the addiction for most, but as a topic, conference realignment is always an interesting one.
Here's a decent article looking at what may trigger the next round of realignment. This has good info in it, regarding conference TV deals, and when they expire, and does a decent job laying out why it would go down.
