I was in Downtown New Albany today and saw the former "Voice" of the University of Louisville Cardinals, Van Vance.

He looked good, but obviously aged. Still looked like he had on the Leisure Suit that he was so famous for wearing.

Some of you younger guys may not know who Van Vance was but, when I was kid, he was the voice of UofL sports radio. Paul Rogers was his color guy.

Our legends are getting up in years....Van Vance, Denny Crum, Howard Schnellenberger.

Jock was with Paul Rogers in the early years, I'm pretty sure.

i am old enough to remember games before paul rodgers

"Jock worked or WHAS Radio for 20 years beside Van Vance and then Paul Rogers. Following Louisville’s 1986 NCAA basketball championship, he wrote a 364-page book entitled, “Every Step of the Way,” chronicling many of the highlights, the ups and downs, and hilarious asides during that memorable season." i heard two titles called by van and jock

Paul Rogers -"He is best known, however, as the Voice of the Louisville Cardinals, calling UofL football games since 1992 and UofL basketball since 1995"

Thanks for the update.

I wanted to ask Van Vance some questions or take a selfie (yuck) with him but I figured he was going in to eat and I was in a hurry so I just kept walking.

He has a great voice.

And Double-V's regular guest appearances by Clark Francis were must-listen as the only way you could get timely recruiting news. Good stuff.
