Is Duke still far and away the leader for him and will him playing for a Nike sponsored AAU team help Uk in his recruitment? Louisville and Pitino gonna put on the full court press for Romeo though!

Adidas supplies New Albany with all their gear, even made a promo (look it up on YouTube)....I thought that was because Romeo was with an Adidas AAU team. That looks well for Louisville I'd say.

I don't know what to make of a prediction, but we're wasting our time with this kid if he's not coach-able within Pitino's system. He'll be less of an impact as a freshman than VJ is. And we're stupid to be talking about him...

Glowing reports about his character to date.I'd love to have him and it'd be great for the area, imo.Duke ahead, but don't count out the Ville.

I wish I could link the article, but he's all about championships.L1C4 enough for me.

I believe he definitely likes Louisville, but from what I've read he will most likely go to Duke. No matter what you guys think I would think he'll give UK serious consideration before a decision is made.

With him being from NA, I would think UL would be in the driver's seat. Hopefully a strong run in this year's tournament will impress him enough to come to UL.

He just feels like a kid that UL should land...being across the river there should help UL.

He's been to our campus many times and you can see he's a great kid! I've read where he's been asked to transfer to a prep school, but hasn't, so if he hasn't moved then maybe he wants to stay close to home and Louisville lands him. If he stays put his senior year I think that bodes well for Louisville

All predictors I've seen pick Duke by a wide margin with UofL being second.

I remember reading an article about him and his parents. All sounds like he has a very good and stable home life. Doesn't want to go to prep school because he's loyal to New Albany. To me, all signs of good character traits.

I'm no expert, but the family and him sound smart enough and grounded enough that he will go to the school that is the best fit for him and his future. What school that is is up to them. We all know the benefits of UofL with him being a local, but from an objective point of view, Duke can't be scoffed at. Coach K's resume speaks for itself, and a Diploma from Duke carries a lot of weight in the world.

Definitely wouldn't hold a grudge if he went to Duke. That's an excellent school! Coach K would definitely give him the playing time and exposure to be a sure fire lottery pick.

The biggest issue for kids leaving here is coming back. The way is paved for a guy like RL to become a local legend attending U of L. Unless he's the next Lebron James, he will be achieving his legendary status somewhere else. And that's fine if "somewhere else" is where he wants to be.

Historically, Louisville doesn't celebrate kids who leave Louisville. Not saying that's right or wrong, it's just the way it is...

OAD duds are becoming more commonplace at LPT. Lite's hot streak may be cooling.

"Elite program," my a$$...
SKJ was a fringe five star. It's not like he was top ten. Gabriel wasn't even top ten in every scouting service if he even was on a single one. Just because every now and then a fringe five star guy like Booker blows up doesn't mean they all will.

I can see the allure of Duke, but you are right. The metro area, which obviously includes New Albany, does not celebrate the guys that leave.Hometown heroes are born out of loyalty to their roots.

I think it all depends on if he's a true one and done. Does he think of himself as that? Do his parents? Coaches? The only reason to go to Duke or UK is to continue the fast track to the league. Yes, Duke's a great school but does Langford plan on taking more than a couple of semesters? Is he a Deangelo Russell type? A player who knew he was one and done and went to a school where he could be the man. Or is he a Jaquan Lyle who was a can't miss one and done who looks like will be returning for his junior year?

If he choose Louisville will it prove that he's this great kid who wants more than a quick ticket to the NBA? If he's good enough to be a one and done, then he will be regardless of where he ends up. There hasn't been a one and done at UofL under Pitino. He's tried but each time the recruit was more concerned about the NBA. Think of Russell, Dennis Smith, Kris Dunn, and Fox at UK. All were considering the Cards very much but in the end they went to the places that gets players to the league.

What Langford wants out of playing college ball will determine his choice. Like most, I think Duke. Just because that's what they've been doing there lately at Duke and Pitino never lands a sure fire one and done. It would indeed be a pleasant surprise if he decides on UofL.

If he's a OAD I don't care to get him. Or any others for that matter.

Under CRP's system the odds of him helping us, or himself, in one year is minimal to say the least.

I believe the Sebastian Telfair debacle taught CRP a lesson on OAD's. It cost us Rondo and possibly a NC. And ST was a bust in the NBA.

So everybody lost.... except Rondo.

It takes an exceptional person that can come in to this system as an OAD and contribute immediately for a championship. They're far and few between.UK had one back in 2012.Anthony Davis was that type kid. This guy could be too.I think Pitino wants him because of that character.

You are correct, i.e. Derrick Anderson. Ohio State first then uahkay. I remember overhearing him tell Rick Pitino right after he took the UofL position that he didn't belong here. And, by the way, that's the same position that the beloved Dick Vitale had also. They were both wrong, very wrong. How many of us hear anything much about Derrick Anderson here in Louisville as in comparison to guys that stayed home and made their athletic mark here. At least Vitale "sent" us Ryan McMahon. :p

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

The lack of development of Gabriel and Killeya-Jones is casting a lot of doubts in certain camps.

Except for the fact that Romeo is a shooting guard and so is Booker, Murray, Monk, soon to be Diallo. They will all be one-and-done. Pretty sure Romeo will be paying attention to them over the likes of Luke Kennard at Duke, or any shooting guard from UofL.

Actually UofK had 2 that year. Davis and Gilchrist. It also helped that the NBA had a lockout which forced Lamb and Jones to return for their 2nd year, and everything was held together by the Senior Miller. The perfect storm for Calipari.
