He's been banged up and I think the mental/physical break will help him immensely.

I expect him back on the field before the season is over, in some capacity. Either returning to the starting lineup, or getting a series here or there, or being a short yardage, goal line specialist. Not sure which. No crystal ball.

As a true FR so much was thrown at him and I think he's going to contribute again before the season is over.

I also saw a very supportive player on the sidelines vs Syracuse. He was engaged and you can tell he is a team guy.

Any thoughts on his usage moving forward?

I think this a good post and i hope spot on. I was not able to attend the game but i am glad to hear that he was engaged on the sideline. A little rest will do him good.

If Bolin struggles these next 3 games I expect him to come in and lead us to a victory. I don't expect the same offensive success these next 3 games but I hope the fans will be more patient with whomever is playing then they have been up to this point.

It's that lack of patience by the coaches that's irked me about the decision to demote Bolin after 6 quarters, but that's another thread.I think the fans that have voiced an opinion here believe the patience afforded LJ was not given to Bolin.

If we were 6-2 or 7-1,there wouldn't be anything to talk about. As for the op,I agree that taking a step back to watch a little won't hurt LJ,but help.

I'd just like to see Jackson get healthy. His game is predicated on being elusive and his body is clearly holding him back right now. He can still get in plenty of mental reps watching Kyle if that's what BP decides to do.

I think we need both these guys down the stretch. Pulling for both.

That's an ideal and very believable scenario. The team seems to have a great chemistry. Once again, it's fun to look at our sideline and pick up their buzz. We could have broken very easily.

LJ had the entire world dumped in his lap. I thought he did spectacularly a very pleasing amount of times. I was actually really impressed with his passing his last game. 73% completions are not too shabby. I'm equally sure some of Kyle's throws made him sit up and take notes..........those TE's have value, Bubba!!

I do believe Kyle is precisely what our Line needs. It would make adaptation to LJ easier too, knowing you are competent at the sport and re-experiencing newly-successful leverage and technique with a running QB. LJ's time very well may come. There's certainly no reason to lose a guy like this on the bench.

I like that he gets "time off". It can let him get to know the team better, too - on the field. I think stuff like that matters.

The way the deck was stacked against Bolin, what did you expect? McGee was specifically brought in to run the read-option, he wouldn't look at--much less talk to--Bolin during practices, and he was calling me every night to discuss the QB situation once Fall practice started.

With all of us conspiring, poor Kyle never had a chance...
Zipp, just relax. Have a sandwich. Bolin never did anything to hurt you.

I think Kyle has proven to be the "Traditional" Petrino QB. If the scouting report is in his favor, you go with that. Bring Lamar in on goal line or in Wildcard packages, with his ability to run or throw out of that package it will have defenses spinning. You add Reggie in those packages as well and you have options that will be very challenging to defend.

I have no problem with Bolin. I have major issues with some of his fans...

What is your specific beef with Bolin's fans? I'm a fan of them all the same, so I'm not really in any corner. I'd just like to get a full understanding of the debate.

Correct me where I'm wrong below.

You are stating that Bolin gives the team no better chance to win than Jackson does as the starting QB, and maybe less of a chance. #'s from Saturday from Bolin should be taken w/ a grain of salt due to the horrible defense he went up against.

You're also annoyed that some of the posters, while in their support of Bolin, are maybe discrediting Jackson, and/or disrespecting Jackson, and not taking into consideration the previous paragraph I wrote above. You also really didn't like my suggestion that perhaps the staff wasn't on the same page. You find that suggestion laughable because Petrino is in charge no questions asked.

I'm going to guess I've got about 60% of your position on this.

Catch me up. Let's put our prior exchanges this week in the garbage. I'm interested in better understanding your position on all this.

The rest of the season looks good for both QBs and both systems.
I see Pitt as the last major impediment to both KB and Lamar.
If uk plays like the last few games, they cannot handle our D and our O should be productive. But, rivalry games cannot be discounted.

Fair enough Zipp. These guys have forgotten more than I will ever know. I have no QB preference. I root for whoever snaps it if they have on our uniform.
