Lamar Jackson CFN freshman All American

Well-deserved honor for the young man. I think people lose sight of the fact that he's a true freshman playing the toughest position on the field in a P-5 conference. This kid is a true player who brings all the intangibles of a winning athlete: confidence, swagger, talent and the ability to step up and make plays in the big games (ie: Auburn and UK come to mind). Thrilled to have this guy on campus and frankly feel that our fans have been overly critical at times.

Yes we have been overly critical of him...the kid has all the tools...just needs experience and more reps...place his physical talents with a Petrino Offense...Scary and unbelievable upside on what he can do

I don't think the criticism was aimed at LJ so much as at the coaching staff. It's like they threw this kid to the wolves and he is still limited at this point in his career.

Limited as he may be, I think he was our best option all year. Bolin is also limited with not near as much upside. It will be interesting to see what happens when Pass is on campus. In a perfect world, BP could figure something out with both guys in the backfield, but it's obviously way too early. If Pass can make it rain then we have an interesting dynamic/problem on our hands next year.
