Louisville Lacrosse starts the "second season" today with a 2 p.m. play-in-game in the ACC WLAX Tournament. The Crds face #8 seed Pittsburgh on Notre Dame's field/
North Carolina earned the top seed in the 2022 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The first three rounds of the nine-team tournament will be hosted by Notre Dame at Arlotta Stadium in Notre Dame, Indiana. The championship game will then be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 7. An interesting format, for sure.
UNC is the five-time reigning tournament champion, winning the title every year since 2016 (the 2020 championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
Four quarterfinal matchups will be contested on Friday, April 29. North Carolina (15-0, 8-0 ACC) opens the day at noon against the Pitt-Louisville winner. No. 4 seed Duke (15-2, 6-2) and No. 5 seed Notre Dame (8-8, 3-5) follow at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Louisville and first-year program Pitt face once in the conference schedule -- Pitt taking a 17-10 win in Pittsburgh
