If you click on the tweet you can read what happened and why Davis isn't on the team. Leaves more questions than answers though. Payne absolutely handled this situation in his signature bizarre way.

(Short Summary, with a lot of small details left out of the article) of the Koron Davis situation, per The Athletic:

Back in mid November, Payne called Davis out in a team huddle at practice, saying Koron talked bad about teammates.

“F*#k all y’all” was what Payne told the team Koron had said about them, per Davis. Davis stood up for himself, stating that this was untrue, and the situation escalated but it never got physical. Payne quasi-suspended Davis, but the actual terms of the suspension were unknown to Davis and teammates.

He was sometimes allowed to participate in practice, but he wasn’t allowed to dress or be on the bench. Davis met with Josh Heird about wanting to be reinstated. Teammates went to the staff and asked for Davis to be reinstated.

This was confirmed by The Athletic with a Louisville teammate. His teammates wanted him to be able to play, or at least be a part of the team during games, and Payne said no.

I've not had any discussions with Josh about the direction of the program - lie

Davis has decided to transfer - lie

Wonder who's side of the story we should believe on this one.

Can't he be fired for cause now? I don't think you can let him coach tonight. Immediate dismissal.
