He needs to get the rust off his edges and speed up plays. The O-line has too much time to think and just needs to react! We need a run game as well! Put Lamar/Bonnafon in as a TB, like M Bush was used as well! If we can't run up the middle then use jet sweeps on the corners! The two gaffs by the Defense just absolutely killed us! Kyle and the o-line need to jell with each other too! Kyle also leaving the pocket aided in several plays. These 1,2,3, and done are absolutely brutal!! The Defense played better but lapsed on the two Clemson TDs. A good run-game that is productive will definitely aid our young WRs!

For about 3/4 of the game I would agree to keep Bolin as QB but only because I have already seen Jackson and bonnafon. Jackson is probably our future. Unless he's hurt I would like to see Gardner. Bolins decision making was not good when the game became crucial and we needed a well executed drive. There has to be a reason why Gardner was ahead of bolinhe on the depth chart at one time.

With a few less drops by WRs, Bolin would have looked a lot better. I thought he did a good job considering the pass rush he was dealing with.

Still what to see Gardner when he is healthy. He is the most accurate and has the most experience. If he can stay healthy it just might be the consistency we are looking for.

It's win at all costs now fellas. I really like all our QBs as fine young men and Bolin gives you all he's got behind a green O-line. And a personal thank you to Kyle for leading us past the sUcKbutts and to Reggie for his performance at Notre Dame.

The competitive nature of coach Petrino promises to keep our QB situation fluid but I hope that now we turn the reins over to the talented youth on this team And let them grow. Time for Lamar to blossom.

How about our young WRs? Devante Peete had flashes of his namesake last night. Future is bright IMO.

I agree and it's a shame that Will can't stay healthy. He was really playing well last year at the time he got hurt at Boston College. Great kid who seems to have been forgotten at times.

Bolin was game, but just felt Jackson added a dynamic threat. You guys are in good shape in the future. Really impressed with your receivers and TE. I know fans are upset at the record but if Louisville was a stock, I'm buying

Yes, Jackson is FUTURE! Bobby is getting him acclimated slowly. There is only so much he can do and Bolin is much farther along now! But the issue is the O-line protecting the qb and making holes for a run game!

In watching Jackson and Bolin the last two games, one thing is obvious to me.They both run whatever play is called from the sideline. We've become accustomed to watching Teddy read the defense, identify the blitz, and know where the hot receiver will be.

I'd love to see ether of these two guys go hurry up all the time to get that chance with the play clock to do the same. The blitz killed us and the lack of those check downs.Bolin was not helped by plays that would burn the opposing blitzes, except for a few draw plays.I saw one screen play called the whole night, and it came right before the missed field goal.Btw,Clemson didn't blitz on that play.

Bolin isnt the answer. He's great, but with the holes in the O line, need a more mobile qb.

I say just put Jackson in and let him learn. He is obviously one of the best athletes on the field. Just grab em and go

I recently was reminded that Bolin was injured ar the first part of last season.

The offense only bagged ten points under Bolin, so that's hardly a slam dunk validation of him as starter. I agree that Jackson will probably emerge eventually. Bolin and Bonnafon need to continue to improve, and Gardner is still a strong possibility if he comes back healthy. (Nice if he's ready for FSU...)

Gotta also measure Thursday's performance against the competition that Clemson was. Pretty good defense with young but very good athletes. Our offense is struggling, but I was actually more impressed with the Tiger defense than I was their offense.

There are other worthwhile threads on this, but I was most impressed with the quality and quantity of the Clemson fan turnout. Those guys are absolutely first class, and can't wait to see them against next year!...

With 5 sacks and and mostly rushed otherwise, it's pretty easy not to be a "slam dunk." I don't think Will does much better under those circumstances.

Sure, some packages for Reggie and Lamar but full time is not the answer this season unless we get some good leads vs. Samford, Cuse … Lamar is exciting but I think he is a mostly run QB against some teams not named FSU speed.

The problem for both Kyle and Will is their lack of escape-ability behind this O-line. Look at Jackson in the Auburn game for an illustration of that. That's not really an indictment of those two guys, but we have to play with the O-line we have. And if a more mobile QB can help our running game, that would be another benefit.

Petrino has to figure out what nets out the best for us...

Considering what LSU did to Auburn today, maybe Auburn's defense (and Jackson's success) was overrated.

I think Will is our best QB when healthy, he understands the offence and the complete playbook. Kyle plays hard and works his butt off, but the playbook is limited with him. Reggie has potential, but still second guesses himself constantly so he is a second late making decisions. Lamar can be lights out good, but he is a true freshman and if the playbook is limited with Kyle there is almost no playbook with Lamar. If Will is not ready to go Bobby must choose between Kyle & Lamar. In today’s paper they quoted Samuel saying Kyle can read the defenses and makes checks to change plays when needed. That I think is where Lamar needs work, defenses gameplan to keep him confused and not allow him to get into the flow of the game.

Very possible. But what's that say about our other QBs?

We all recognized that a QB with less mobility would have been killed in the Auburn game. Jackson was scrambling for his life...

I THINK Jackson is the future at QB, but he is just not nearly experienced enough at this point. Keep in mind, he arrived later and didn't go through spring practice. Then again, last year I THOUGHT Reggie Bonnafon was our future at QB. Maybe next year, I will THINK Pass is the future. I'm flexible like that. :)

At least you're not paid to make that decision. Imagine how frustrating this is for Petrino...

I don't care who the QB. None of us have much of a clue what goes on in practice and study of game film on opponents. We see maybe 10-15 minutes a game of action from the QB. So it's tough to really know why they play who they play with the limited information and knowledge most of us possess.
