Looks like he committed today. I wonder what the staff sees in him that others have overlooked.

PWO, maybe?

Listed as a 6’3” 185lb WR. 4.8 forty. According to 247, he doesn’t have an offer, so I dunno.

TE/H-Back makes a lot of sense. Ford has been a revelation for us this year. Not rated by rivals, possibly a preferred walk-on spot with the opportunity to earn a scholarship after a couple of years in the program. Definitely looks like a playmaker at the HS level!

He's going to have to put on about 30lbs of good weight to play TE unless he is used as a "3rd down" TE

What was Ford's star ranking? He's been good agreed!

Marshon Ford is listed at 6-2, 226#, so putting 30-40 pounds of muscle on him during a redshirt year is almost exactly what you’d expect to happen.

Ford was also an unrated prospect in the class of 2018. Per his bio on the Gocards.com website:

High School: Graduated from Ballard High School…Came to Louisville as a walk-on and was awarded a scholarship in the spring of 2019...Had 35 receptions for 466 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior…Added 42 tackles, a sack and two interceptions.

Other site confirms he’s a preferred walk on. Looks like a kid with good length and decent athleticism. Nice pick up! Could potentially play on either side of the ball.

Mayfield is a great 1a/2a football program. They compete for championships every year in a small small town in the western part of the state. They play tough football with a winning mentality, sign him up please!
