This game was for 1st in the ACC and a potential 1 seed. This loss isnt going to drop us a whole seed. We should still be a 2 as long as we win out regular season and make it to the quarters-semis-finals in the ACCT. I think if we win the ACCT we could be a 1 seed.

So this loss should virtually do nothing. Win on Sunday and we'll just swap AP/Coaches rankings with UNC. We simply did not play very well at all. Outscored 21-4 from the free throw line. Horrible 3pt shooting as well. Those 2 things costs us the game. Just remember that Pitino is happy with the 22-5/6 record. And fighting for 1st in the ACC, now we're 2-3 ACC. Which means that we are going in the right direction.

This team has faced everything. Virtually every single play-style out there. We'll be ready for the ACCT and the NCAA.

We'll be fine. Being #7 and losing to #8 on the road to a team that is now 14-0 at home, by 11, which could have been 20 but when we got down 15 we continued to play. I think that shows that this team has heart. Most would have quit, but this team gave effort until the buzzer.

Hopefully we finish the regular season strong by winning out. Then we accept the 2-3 spot in the ACC, and get ready to fight hard in the ACCT. Prepping us even more for the NCAAT with a solid 2 seed (1 possibly if we win the ACCT).

Lastly, someone needs to beg and plead that Mitchell stays another year. With the improvement of Adel and King on defense over this offseason, along with Mitchell improving overall as a player, this team will be a powerhouse next year. And the team improving offensively and defensively as a whole, I believe we will be one with or without Mitchell, but WITH Mitchell, you will see a lot of 2012-13 season.

Go Cards!

Good post. This same team gutted out some good wins the last few games but couldn't do it on the road tonight against the best team in the ACC. The FT shooting is a definite concern but there is no need to hit the panic button after tonight. I understand being disappointed in many aspects of this game because I was too, but let's see how they bounce back next game. If they play the same flat way or end the season on a long losing streak then there is a big cause for concern. Right now I'm going to chalk this up to "one of those games" and move on.

I'm really worried about this team. Really worried that we might be an early exit from the tournament. Hopefully we can right the ship in the next couple weeks and get it going.

If our offensive becomes consistent over these next few weeks and in the ACCT, then get ready for Louisville. See, what should have happened is we should have came out on fire because of how well we shot the ball on Saturday vs VATech. But being as we didn't, proves the inconsistency. That fixes here in a few and we should be fine. To fix it, it's clear what we need to do, move the ball. Sometimes we get out of doing that and our numbers drop. We did it well in the first half and really really well in the VATech game. Hopefully Pitino fixes that and our guys pass and move for the full 40. Offensive consistency and this team is a lot different. Hopefully we are there by the ACCT

I really feel like our defense has sucked the past couple weeks. I was at the game tonight and saw first hand that our defense is not good right now. It was tough watching Justin Jackson shooting wide open three's all game long.

Good OP. Pretty much spot on IMO. One game doesn't define a season...

This team can't beat a good ranked team away from home. I know it's extremely difficult to do anyway but for some reason it seems like this team should be able to do that.

From an outsider perspective I say it will be hard to keep Mitchell here another year. Kid has blossomed this year into one of the premier players in a loaded conference. I have a feeling tourney time will be like adding miracle grow to him.
